Dev Log Calling (Patreon)

Our final Dev Log before demo! I’ve been spending basically all day for the past month squashing bugs and adding a special new feature. I’m delighted to report that our VN lewd demo showing off our dialogue system is functionally complete!

We’ve been working on a feature to tie in our game features across the dialogue/interaction, battle and base building features that will be in our final game.

While we want our game interface aesthetic to be low tech feeling I wanted to add a communication device to represent a more slick high end high tech device. I don’t imagine there will be many physical phones in the future so I wanted to have it tie in somewhat to familiar interfaces we use on phones now while being more fantastical with physical pop up hovering notifications and translucent construction.

Some of the inspirations we took

 TCL rollable concept phone. I would like the screen to expand into a more full screen tablet style experience in the later game for some special apps we have in mind. 

Really want to love the idea of a expandable mobile device.

Press Esc or P and your device will pop up ready to be used, notifications will also pop up in the corner of your screen to bring attention to messages and important information during gameplay. These notifications are context sensitive and will open a relevant app so you don’t have to spend time searching. 

You’ll be using this phone to chat with many of the cast of URAGONER, we also added a special room where you can chat to all the employees of URAGON Corp in one group chat, giving you opportunity to ask and answer totally inappropriate workplace questions if you decide to plus a whole host of other conversation. New girls will jump into the conversation as you add them to your roster for more even chaos! We have written the chat system to allow multiple group conversations so we may expand on this in the future! One extra feature we snuck in recently is that some characters can be impatient if you choose not to reply promptly and get pissed off, they’ll let you know about it, you can choose not to care about it though! 

 Another important feature we wanted to add was images in messages and the Photos app, you can collect wholesome, funny and lewd images from the cast of URAGONER throughout the game. When you click on these images they pop out of the phone full screen so you may “enjoy” them without being stuck in the device screen. Many of these images are also able to be set as a wallpaper for your device so you can customize! These wallpapers are transparent and pop out of the display giving a neat effect with the animated colors behind it on the lock screen! 

More apps will be designed during development, some will tie into specific characters are you explore their personalities! 

One of the special apps that will tie into this demo is the One True App, an app build by the main antagonists of our game One True Path, a corporate entity aping the behaviors of a religion. They are the strongest threat in the game and own many interests. Their app is installed on your phone without your consent during the demo, it seems to have gone wrong though because it’s acting glitchy. You’ll hopefully find out why by the end of it! (If you choose to). 

 We’re looking to have you talk to EVERY announced URAGONER girl in the game using this device, some of them will send you pics too during this demo! Look forward to it! 

 We’re really excited to be finally close to a demo! What’s left before the demo launch:

• We have some animations left to do, some of this will probably be streamed on our discord discord.gg/uragoner if you want to watch! Eri and Mia will be joining the physical cast with a limited set of animations for now!
• We are sourcing some more music for the demo. We want to experiment so we may use a few artists to see what you guys like before the full game.
• We have something arranged for Lillies lewd scene to have some voiced moans!
• We are brainstorming some story elements to tie into the new phone functionality and fleshing out the ancillary story elements.
