Taking this to the extreme - with enough modifications, at what point does a human become a robot or a robot become a human? Would brain/CPU be the decider, or can they test for a soul in QC-verse?

I've often wondered if the QC world is more friendly to trans people than the actual one we live in. Most of the time, Claire's status is a non-issue, so seeing this moment makes her even more human. She's definitely become one of my favourite characters.

I think our community in QC is very accepting. We don't spend any time outside of the few circles of friends that comprise our universe.

AIs in the QC-verse actually can change their "chassis" as easily as Claire presumably wishes she could. I'm surprised she doesn't resent Momo (or May-the-would-be-fighter-plane). Jeph being Jeph, I wonder if the question of uploading personalities will arise.

What makes you think an AI/robot doesn't have a soul? :-) (Or, equivalently, that a human _does_ have one in any meaningful sense that would distinguish us from a sapient being that runs on a quantum-computing-capable semiconductor substrate, rather than wetware.)
