OMG i have this exact same fan

Flounder

My dog does this too.

Shelby: "Need to maintain max fluffiness..."

Anonymous

At least she didn't crop dust on the way past the fan. My dog loves drivebys.

Erin Moriarty

I like this art style, it's super cute

Matt

Mine used to sleep on the A.C. vents in the floor.

Anonymous

I relate to Shelby. I, too, have long long hair and need all the cool air.

ysth

Needs a final panel with Yelling Bird making a comment

Ian Cull

Disney have A/C or heating vents in some Animal Kingdom pens to persuade the animals to hang out where they can be seen ... A/C in "rocks" for the Lions, and we learned this weekend heating in "rocks" for the Komodo Dragon!

Mark

You knew the risks when you got a floofy dog!

Derrik Pates

What, you mean it's not all about her?

Anonymous

My dog does this all the time. He seems to think wagging his tail makes up for it.

Anonymous

Hahaha...dogs are wonderful and deserve all the fan they can get.

Anonymous

Well of course you turned the fan on for Shelby and not yourself, right?

Gary Walker

Obey the floof.

Waffliesinyoface

she just wants to give you to have the pleasure of smelling her (and her farts) and what better way to do that than to stand upwind of you

MAR

Take your dog to a groomer and get them a shave. It's how you keep cold weather dogs in hotter climates than they're built for.

Anonymous

I wouldn't exactly describe Canada as a warm climate.

Anonymous

Given that it's almost October it's probably a little late for a shave.

Peter Jensen

No amount of shaving will contain the infinite floof of Shelby!

Anonymous

It could be worse. We have allergen reducing HEPA air purifiers in the most used rooms of the house and the cats (inconsiderate little beasts) don't sit in front of the air intake, but on top where the purified exhaust can pick up a fresh load of hair and dander before being circulated.

MAR

Jeph is in shorts and short sleeves and turning on a fan to cool off, even if it's nice outside, it's apparently not inside where she probably spends most of her time.

Julienne Ignace

This may be so, but a lot of dogs have issues growing back their coat properly because their undercoats were never intended to be cut so they end up growing back spotty and and pretty rough looking.

MAR

I'm sure the groomer will know if that's the case, and if not the vet certainly should.

Celine Chamberlin

It's late September. We don't know what Jeph does for Shelby's hair situation at the beginning of the summer. And this is a drawing, after all, not a real-life depiction of her current state of floof.

MAR

It says "So this just happened" for the title, I'm just taking it at it's word. I definitely could have put it better than I did, and I apologize for that. When my family got a dog that needed hair cuts, we had no idea until the vet was ready to yell at us, then we found all that out and got her sorted. What I should have said earlier was "Please check with your vet about her coat and your current heat because some breeds do need shaved when it's warm enough humans need fans, because we cool easier than they do"

Gary Walker

Now shipping Shelby/Fan.

Our little sod has on occasion dragged his blanket over to be in front of the heater. And of course will attempt to sleep standing up to maximise heater blockage. We brought a heater with the outlet taller than him to get around (ha!) him.

Gary Walker

I'm just going to say that I'm sure you meant nothing but positives toward Shelby and Shelby's floof. Give the person a break, people.

I have a pyr, too—and I'm just imagining the giant cloud of white fluff that must swirl around the room in this moment. 😂
