April Quiz Results - Did You Win?? (Patreon)

The results are in for last months quiz! Two lucky / skilful folks are winning stuff.

The highest scorers were Eoghan and JustGamer who were both tied on 11. So the tiebreaker question came into play - Eoghan picked 333 and JustGamer picked 880. 

The number Lloyd was holding up was 205, so Eoghan was closest on the tiebreaker and he wins the Star Wars helmet. It's the luck o'the Irish! Commiserations to JustGamer.

[clue: clouds] A: Aries [It is a 'fire' sign of the zodiac - people born in that period of the year are said to be passionate, dynamic, and temperamental. The other three are all water signs which are said to be intuitive, emotional and ultra-sensitive. Of course in all likelihood its a load of mumbo jumbo]

2) Which English ruler is the odd one out - Henry VIII, Elizabeth I, Edward VI or Richard III? [clue: theo] A: Richard III [He was part of the House of  Plantagenet which ruled England from 1154 until 1485 when Richard III died in battle. The period that followed was called the House of Tudor which Henry, Elizabeth and Edward were all part of which ruled until 1603. The word Tudor is derived from the welsh word Tewdwr - which is formed from Theodore]

3) Which USA baseball team is the odd one out - Chicago White Sox, Cleveland Indians, Washington Nationals or Detroit Tigers? [clue: baby] A: Washington Nationals [The Nationals formed in 1969 as the Montreal Expos but only became the Washington Nationals in 2005 and won the World Series in 2019. The other three teams were all formed or were born out of the first charter teams of the American League back in 1901.

4) Which actor is the odd one out - Paul Newman, Val Kilmer, Emilio Estevez or Ethan Hawke? [clue: goat] A: Ethan Hawke [Hawke portrayed Sheriff Pat Garrett in the 2019 film "The Kid". Garrett was the man who shot Billy The Kid in real life. Whilst the other three actors have all portrayed Billy The Kid in various films over the years]

5) Which ruler is the odd one out - Alexander I of Greece, King Chulalongkorn of Siam, Attila the Hun, Henry I of England? [clue: coffin] A: King Chulalongkorn of Siam [The other three had strange deaths. Alexander died after being bitten by a monkey. Attilla the Hun died after he suffered a severe nosebleed and choked to death. It is claimed Henry I died from eating too many eels. So King Chulalongkorn is the odd one out as he died of natural causes at the age of 57. Notably though, one of his many wives drowned when her royal boat capsized and the many onlookers did not dare help the queen - touching a royal risked the death penalty - so many watched on as she and her daughter both drowned]

6) Which musician's song is the odd one out - Otis Redding, Bob Marley, Elton John or Buddy Holly? [clue: tomorrow] A: Elton John [The other tracks were all released after the death of the individual singers. Whilst Elton John wrote his track about Marilyn Monroe and subsequently it became associated with the death of Princess Diana]

7) What food has Lloyd eaten more than ever whilst in lockdown - toast, oranges, oreos or M&M's? A: M&M's

8) What is the average amount of 'continuous sleep' Pete is averaging each day whilst looking after his newborn - 1, 2, 3 or 4? A: 2 hours

10) What is the furthest distance from his home, that Pete has travelled in the last month - 2, 5, 10 or 15 miles? A: 2 miles

11) If Lloyd had to go outside and hunt an animal and had the choice of either a crossbow, fishing rod, knife or rifle which would he pick? A: Crossbow
