Hi everyone!

I've got quite a number of things I wanted to announce.

-------------------------------------
Waifu Polls => Suggestion Box

-------------------------------------
I've made the call to remove this as a future event. I'd be lying if I said my choice to remove this wasn't affected by the discontent some have voiced regarding how the polls are run. This pattern has been ongoing for quite some time and while I thought about continuing the event, I ultimately thought it's much better to remove it from future events. Some of you have suggested various ways to make the polls "Fair" and give more chance for less popular characters to have a winning chance by making several polls at once until reaches a semi-finals poll and so on, but I don't believe we can afford to spend any more time on running the polls when I'm starved for time to focus on drawing in the first place. I'll be making changes on my community discord as a result of this change, polls will be removed and the suggestion channel will be repurposed as a Suggestion Box where I will allow you guys to suggest a character for me to draw. Over the next month, I'll look in that thread to see if there is a character I'd like to draw and pick from the suggestions instead of running a poll over it. This will mean I can draw what I'd like to draw and you guys won't need to participate in the poll process.

------------------------------

Discord Channel overhaul

------------------------------

I've thought about this for some time now but I think it's about time we had an overhaul. Over the next two weeks, I hope to remove some channels or merge them into one and perform a general cleanup of the channels.

-----------

Gumroad

-----------

I briefly considered the idea of removing gumroad rewards due to frustrations from the recent piracy attacks but ultimately chose to continue distributing them. That said, the contents will go through a slight shift since I'm removing the waifu poll.

--------------

My own OC

--------------

Throughout the start of this year, it's been brought to my attention many times that I've long been neglecting my own OC, Sister Reine. Due to just how busy I've been for as long as I can remember, I've barely had much time to draw her. Going forward, I plan to make more effort to draw my OC on a regular monthly basis. I'm going to try and aim for one artwork of my OC a month at the minimum but things might change from time to time depending on how I feel like it.

Potential future plans for Traveling abroad

--------------------------------------------------

Maybe this is something you're not very familiar with and I understand for my newer patrons if this is the case. But for my older patrons who have been with me for years now, you'll remember that all those years when I started my patron, I have always been traveling overseas hopping from one country to the next as a digital nomad. Covid introduced travel restrictions which meant I had to go home and since then, I've been grounded from my workshop. Now that things have stabilized and travel restrictions are no more, I'd like to make some efforts to start traveling again. Perhaps not as extreme as living a life of a digital nomad again but maybe traveling to destinations once every few months.

What does this mean for you as patrons who support my works?

My content for the month when I do travel will see some drastic changes. Over the past two years, the equipment I used for my drawing process has expanded quite considerably and while I'd like to continue to produce art during my travels as I used to back in the digital nomad day, it's simply not practical to lug around my cintiq weighing around 15.43 lb [7 kg] everywhere I go.  This doesn't mean I won't be drawing of course. I'll still produce artwork AND update you all with my travels in the form of blogs and cute sketches of the places I visit and the things I experience during the travel.

This idea is still in the experimental phase. I'm sure it will take time for me to finalize my ideas once I travel but most of the art content for this travel blog will be of my OC in various places as I travel, maybe I'll sketch her doing touristy things or enjoying the latest delicacies. I'll make further announcements when I make my plans for the travel and for how my Patreon content will adjust during that time.

More Sister Reine art is welcomed.

Drakkar

Allowing yourself to draw your main OC Sister Reine more freely is good. We support the fox nun.

Hiryu

its always awesome to draw your own OCs, plus being able to choose any idea you wanna draw without the pressure of the polls imo!

YourMagnet_adult_version

Thanks for posting! I think all these changes are for the better. Good luck and happy travels. And keep us updated

Oh, the idea of drawing OC in different places in the world is great. Hope to see it soon. Keep being productive

It's always been a pressure between chasing what's trendy and my OC. I think it's about time I try and balance those two things.

foxyrain

Yes, I think this new system would be an improvement since it gives me more room to balance out my content. Thank you for your support Hiryu!

foxyrain

I'm going to do my best to create the best content I can even during my travels! Please look forward to them in the future <3

I have a good idea of how it would pan out but we'll see once we cross that bridge. I'm personally very excited to start a adventure journal type of travel guide with my OC hehe.
