Early in development (2020), we were exploring visual ideas for different checkpoints. Is it a flag that raises when activated? A glowing, levitating ball of yarn? A box that opens with Stuffy popping out?

Ultimately, we've decided to add checkpoints in a more traditional sense. When you cross a checkpoint in current-day Restitched, you'll see UI that tells you a checkpoint has been reached - albeit invisible like in many games. It's up to the creator to add handmade visuals for their respawn areas.

We hope to add preset visuals for checkpoints in the future, so that you can choose a preset look without needing to make your own. For now, though, we're focused on functionality first!

That is a very good idea to let the creator decide what to choose

Ohh, I like all of them. Maybe you can add cotton or yarn to checkpoints that have more lives, and the more times you die, the more gets taken out, leaving the checkpoint with nothing when you run out of lives
