When we first added footsteps for Stuffy, we split the sound banks across various "material classifications". This is our way of letting artists decide which objects in the scene will play a certain set of sound effects.

In this example, we're testing Wet, Glass, Metal, Wood, and Default. We've also created classifications for Rock, Sand, and other types, but these weren't included in the test footage at the time of recording.

Note: there may be volume inconsistencies due to the recording software used.

Pretty cool! However, it is kind of jarring how off-sync the footstep sounds are with Stuffy's animations. I don't know if this is because of the recording software or not though.

Unfortunately, it’s both louder and a little out of sync in the video. There was also an issue with the foot colliders not always detecting the ground, but we’re fixing it as we move to 3D physics. :)

Sounds great, wish the default sounded a little less squishy/slappy though
