In recent months we properly began experimenting with "connectors" in Restitched. This is a way to connect two rigidbody objects and offers various movement types in the form of different "joints".

Connectors are fully physics-based! This tech is meant to be used for bolts and rotating bolts, springs, piston movement, chains/threads/ropes, etc...

Setting up functionality for this mechanic is simple, as Unity already offers its own settings to get it working. Unfortunately, we've delayed setting this up any further as we focus on more urgent tasks. We're still exploring the visuals for these connectors as well. Looping it through the in-game user interface and serialization (saving) systems are the most demanding parts of completing this feature, but we're stoked to see it implemented sometime soon!

We're also switching to a 3D physics system (or already have depending on when you read this!), which is also a reason for the delay in properly adding this feature.
