KiaraSims4Mods: General Information (Patreon)

This is just some general information. Some of the comments I see are concerning to me because I feel like I am repeating myself but here is a post again to make sure these things are known.

Downloading Mods

The .zip file is when mod has more than one file and you need to drag those two files out of the .zip file into your mods folder. The .package file you download but you do not need to do anything else with it. Just drag the .package file into your mods folder.

Mod Conflicts

Please report mod conflicts. i can contact the creator and we can attempt to work together so you can enjoy both mods. I am not a mind reader, however, and when I work on my mods I only have mine in my game to see if any errors persist. I recommend you complete the errors form so I can get a record of it and I can look into it.

Help with Mods

I get a lot of comments daily about "How do I do this?" with the mod. Sims wiki is a great resource of help if you can't figure something out. I can help but it may take some time for me to respond. I've been adding tooltips with recent mods but I can't go back and add tooltips into every mod. It would take a lifetime! But if I update a mod, I will go back and add them slowly.

The Forms

There's roughly two important forms. Report Errors and Questions - This is when you have a question or you can report an error. if you get a last exception, download better exceptions and upload the file to the report errors form. I can then analyze it. 

The second form is the mod request form. You can post wherever about a mod request, but it is only considered if it is submitted on this form. This is so I can see the idea and read about it. 

Search Posts

I have posted on this before. I am unable to change how Patreon works. I can not group posts, I can not make it easier and I can not make it easier to find mods. But what Patreon has done is they created a Search Posts feature and this includes tags on how to find mods. You can use this post here to familiarize yourself with how searching for posts works https://support.patreon.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039998431-Search-through-a-creators-posts  - Do not request a mod without searching to see if it exists. I had about 5 requests of a real estate career when there is one. You can always suggest a mod improvement if a mod exists.

Required Game Packs

I am working on making sure the required game packs are needed for mods you download. When I first started modding, I did not include required game packs. If you are getting an error, it is possible you are missing an expansion pack, stuff pack or a game pack; This is where our smarts should come into play. Here is an example: If you see a mod that includes the fame skill, but you do not have Get Famous, then you should not download that mod. It uses a resource from that game pack. I'll be adding these individually to ALL mods. You will see "Required Game Pack". 

Game Patches and Updates

It is recommended to remove all mods when you update your game. Then you can wait until you hear from me using the monthly update post for an update. If mods are broken, I will create a separate thread on mod updates. Speaking of the monthly update, make sure to view it at least 2 times a month. All mods are considered up to date unless noted. Also the monthly update includes Known Errors. This means I am aware of these problems and looking for a solution.
