This movie and this song is my first memory of Watching Kamal Haasan . My father had rented the VHS and we watched it as Appu Raja. This song in Hindi is also sung by SPB My favorite part was Raja with his mom :D it was kind of kids movie but oh so not a kid movie 🤪

Nice song but i was not able to focus on this song as heard it cause i couldn't figure out the hindi lyrics of the song which I'm sure i have heard cause this is definitely the first time I'm hearing the kannada lyrics but i know the whole tune of this song. Do tell me the hindi version of this song anyone remembers or knows it cause i can't get it out of my head untill i recollect that.

I'm sure it was famous everywhere in india in hindi and kannada and any other language it was sung in by SPB cause the song melody by illaraja is such a catch and the voice of SPB is just a cherry on the top.

Even the lyrics worked right? Sometimes its so hard to make SI songs to sound good in Hindi unless the lyrics flow well and make it easy to sing .. Like i dont know if you know this song Chikbuk chikbuk raile in Tamil. I beard it so many times that i can sing it in Tamil in full confidence without understanding a word 😂And the same tune was used in a Chiranjeevi movie Gentleman in Hindi as chika pika rika bum bole 🤦🏽‍♀️

Thats great Revati, that you have this memory with your dad !and yeahuntil i saw the comments above i dint knw it was dubbed in Hindi, which is silly of me 😂 oh yeah it was thought of as children movie coz of the clown and circus, I went to the movie with all my millions of cousins in theater first day first show 😂 this movie was one of its kind it had everything comedy, action, revenge and mother sentiment! I love Srividhya the mom actress, she is legendary for her female centric movies ! I have cried so much for this movie for Appu Kamal , i almost cudnt stand Raja Kamal 😂😂 even when i rewatch it recently!

O yes! I remember there is a sad song when Appu is heartbroken which I liked then . There was this time when few SI movies were dubbed in Hindi and reached my house. There was Anjali .. which I loved so much then.. Something something was our goto dance song :D We lived in an apartment complex that time and would bother our poor old watchman, drive around on our bicycles, very relatable Has OSR watched these movies? Would love to revisit with them.. Its core childhood memories :D

No they havent yet,should suggest soon, Anjali was another heart breaking movie, they did react to something something song and anjali anjali song ,it looks like for every other kid growing up tthat period in India has danced for this song or atleast did something called dancing 😂!

Yes ! Anjali was ❤️ i want to watch it again. I know i will cry bucketloads.. thats when i saw Revathy the actress and the first person who had same name as me. Growing up in MH, Revati was not a very common name .
