Expected!!! I have watched Maaveeran three times now (including this Watch-along). First time was with myself, and I absolutely was BOWLED over by the film. Second time was with a group of relatives, who just couldnt get the soul of the film at all and kept hooting as to how boring and dragging they found the second half.... And my third time with you guys, it was lovely that you both shared the same experience that I had first time when I watched it. Did notice that you guys didnt quite get some of Yogi Babu's comedy (esp. the ending DDLJ song) but its ok. Sivakarthikeyan is known for his comedy/massy films, but this is a very subdued and underplayed avatar of him. As others said, watch Doctor (directed by Nelson who did Jailer). That'll be fun!

Like everyone, I would also recommend you to watch Mandela for the director and for the hero (SivaKarthikeyan)'s works, definitely watch Doctor which he plays another calm character (you'll love the movie...maybe except for the climax) and 'Remo' for how animated, fun, hyper he is (which he is actually known...comical timings)
