Animosity and divisiveness: not yet anyway - more like siblings trying to get along. Half-grudgingly sometimes. At least that's been my experience of over two decades of actually living in India. Online forums like this one, or interactions with a few Indians, won't be representative of the whole country. Even if there was divisiveness, wouldn't you rather it be over language/state than over race or political party or caste.

It is MY overall experience, yes, after living in multiple states. There is no serious animosity based on language/state. And, as I said, not yet. I'm aware of the high-level political struggles, especially in Tamil Nadu. And the passion that underpins most discussions on the Tamil-Hindi debate in Tamil Nadu, where I lived for three years. That's made Tamil Nadu what it is today - one of the most truly... don't know if it's the right word for it... authentic... states in India. Trust me, there definitely is a place for that passion. But I'm not sure it is this forum.

This is definitely the forum for it. the intense backlash tamil patreons received from people for simply suggesting a tamil poll because it just made sense based on the size of the group (22%) was way out of line and and words like “language hooligans” were used against us. Hence, this passion from us in the forum is justified. Plus, Rick and korbin did discuss it in the video which is why we started talking about it here in the first place.
