Alright everyone, this is it!

In this month’s build, we finally reach the long awaited route split! Make your choices carefully, because from this point on you’ll be locked in with a specific husbando!

Now that that’s out of the way, hoo boy. Let’s talk about the month I’ve had. I knew this was a make or break moment for the game, so I put forth as much effort as I could muster to get everything done so nobody was left hanging. Between having to deal with my grandfather’s death earlier in the month, to the entirety of January being the single hardest month at my day job in years (I work in the floral industry), I had to put my nose to the grindstone some days to get everything I needed to do done for SL. I can say, now that I’m at the other end of everything, that this is probably the proudest moment I’ve had in the development of the game.

Things for the cast are starting to come full circle. Expect some major events to take place, including some that might leave you speechless. I’ve been working towards the climax we see in this month’s build since the game’s original release, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the results.

That being said, I may have overtapped my mana supply, so to speak. Dev and I both agreed that we need to take February off to recharge ourselves. So much of the game has deviated from the original outlines I had planned going forward, I’m gonna need to rewrite the vast majority of it. That’s what I plan to do for the game during the next month: revise my outlines given how the plot has organically developed over the past year. I will make a post soon about how the route updates are going to look (with results from the polls), but I can summarize right here. The expected month-to-month development cycle from here on is going to look like this:

Carlos > Bryan > Carlos > Nate > repeat

I will begin writing the first update for Carlos’s exclusive route content starting in March, which means you’ll be able to play it on April 1st.

Naturally, with the two of us taking a month break off from working on the game, we are going to pause Patreon from charging you on March 1st, so there’s no need to worry on that front.

Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy what we have in store for you.
It’s been an honor and a privilege to tell you the story of Santa Lucia.
Thank you for sticking with us! We’ll talk again soon!

Hey guys,

This update has been quite a journey for the both of us, and I have to say, I’m pretty pleased with the results! You guys will remain the final judges on that, of course.

We knew where we wanted the update to end, but weren’t sure we’d have the time for it. Nonetheless, we pushed through, and were able to make the deadline, the results being one of our biggest update yet (including all the alternative options).

On my side, I was hard at work on several CGs for this update, as well as reworking and retouching sprites. You’ll be able to see those CGs while playing through this month’s build, but I have decided to keep those sprites in the oven for just a little bit longer, as I want them to be as polished as possible when I finally release them, which will most likely be next build.

As Dzahn most likely talked about, next month is a month off for us. Don’t fret however, we’ll still be working on stuff related to Santa Lucia which will most likely be prep work for the next cycle of updates. We’ll be back the month after!

Until then, you all take care,
-Dev
