Hey folks,

I've got a special little bonus for all my subscribers this month: another unifinished sketch chapter from my archives. It's only available here -- it will not be going on sale on Gumroad.

This is an adaptation of the first chapter of the story "Never Insult a Repecki" by the writer Rawly Rawls. Longtime fans will remember Rawly as the writer of "Mothership," the massive sci-fi epic that I began adapting into a comic but never finished. This story is much shorter -- only 30 pages -- but it has finished dialogue balloons. The artwork is at a similar level to recent unfinished works like Rey: Slave of the Hutt.

Here's a brief synopsis:

Set in the Star Trek universe, the story follows Ummul, an alien ensign serving on the USS Eureka. Ummul's species, the Repecki, are new to the Federation and Ummul is constantly disrespected by his fellow shipmates. But things begin to look up when Ummul has to serve disciplinary duty with Dr. Amelia Hargrave, the beautiful wife of his commanding officer. Dr. Hargrave soon learns about Repecki's mating rituals and the overpowering pheromones that are part of their unique physiology.

Rawly Rawls' full story is very fun and sexy, and like a lot of his work involves themes of cheating and cuckoldry that are very exciting in a sci-fi context. His  story took place in an original setting but -- probably because of all the Strange New Worlds and Lower Decks I've been watching recently -- I thought it could work well in a Star Trek setting (albeit with all-new original characters).

If I have time in the future I would like to do further adaptations of this story, as it isn't a huge time-suck to do these short sketch-page adaptations. I may also go back and add finished dialogue bubbles to the Mothership pages, if anyone thinks that sounds like a good idea. Again, not a huge time commitment and would tie off a project that always felt unfinished.
