From Adal:

Here’s what I consumed in December:

TV:

  • Scavengers Reign - worth watching for the world building alone
  • Reacher season 2
  • Warrior season 1
  • Gary Gulman - Born On 3rd Base
  • Ru-Paul: Holi-Slay Special

Movies:

  • Poor Things
  • The Holdovers
  • The Iron Claw
  • Violent Night
  • Bottoms
  • Riders of Justice
  • Somewhere in Time
  • Headliners Only
  • Finley - not really a full movie but a comedy/horror short a friend of mine sent my way - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0641hHG1IQ

Music:

  • Palehouse album Eye On the Bat
  • Genesis Owusu album Struggler
  • Wednesday album Rat Saw God
  • Shame album Food For Worms
  • Jeff Rosenstock album Hellmode
  • Water From Your Eyes album Everyone’s Crushed
  • Mandy, Indiana album I’ve Seen a Way
  • Young Father album Holy Moly
  • Billy Woods & Kenny Segal album Maps
  • Ryan Davis & The Roadhouse Band album Dancing On the Edge
  • Pearl & The Oysters album Coast 2 Coast
  • Endless Corridors album Echoes From the Sunken City
  • Lord of the Rings the Musical

Other Stuffs:

  • Jemma and I went to Vegas for a couple days to visit her step-sister and ended up seeing U2 at The Sphere which was bonkers. We also saw Jim Jefferies do a show and had a phenomenal meal at Lotus of Siam - which may be the best Thai I’ve had
  • The Emmet Otter musical in Chicago was an absolute delight. I definitely got emotional seeing those lil puppets (the characters puppets half the time and people in costume the other half) sing their songs
  • Enjoyed the comic book series Eight Billion Genies - the concept is ‘one day everyone on Earth gets a genie who will grant 1 wish’
  • Enjoyed the new Saga TPB - volume 11
  • Jemma and I went to Warlord - a new restaurant in Chicago. We’re obsessed and are planning to go back often
  • I was recently a guest on video game podcast Sights Unseen
  • The most recent episode of the Tell Me About It podcast was with Josh Gondelman talking about ‘Dunks’ - it was a blast to record
  • I saw ‘Betty Boop the Boop-Doop-a-Dusical’. I’d give it a Boop-Doop-a-B-minus
  • We rang in the New Year playing Blood on the Clock Tower with some friends which was delightful
  • We’ve got a Magic Tavern live show in Chicago next Thursday the 11th. You can find tix here
  • We also have a Magic Tavern San Francisco Sketchfest show on Saturday February 3rd - tix here

From JPC:

Hey Riddiots -

Happy New Year! Nothing from me for this month. Going forward, I’ll be updating when I have something to recommend but there might be some months where I don’t. But if there is something show-related, I’ll throw it in the bottom section of the Newsletter.

-JPC
