I have a far-afield suggestion for some other time (October == Over the Garden Wall would be *great*): the movie Popeye. It's a musical. It's got a "Mystery." It features stellar performances of the absolute stupidest characters ever, perfectly singing the most appropriate songs which are also the dumbest things ever, and it features a constant soundtrack of Robin Williams and/or Shelly Duvall muttering in-character. It's a collection of rare attributes captured on film and it is insane.
