Development Update (Patreon)

Hi guys,

Hopefully, everyone has now had the chance to play the update and I hope you all enjoyed the new content and animations. I'll avoid any spoilers here, just in case people are still playing through.

As usual, after the update was finished I took a couple of days off to relax and then spent a week or so keeping myself up to date with the constant improvements to the software I use. I’ve been continuing to make improvements with the new animation method and I’ve also figured out a way to add PNG images onto a transparent in-game panel. I can now easily add any 2D image I want (for example signs and posters) directly into the studio rather than having to add things in afterwards using photoshop. This will mean I can start to create much better environments and backgrounds. I've also been working on a little tutorial video on how our game is made and I hope to post that here soon. I want to aim for a quick turnaround with the next update though so it's time to get back to working directly on new content.

So Chapter 2 is now fairly well established. I will continue adding little class, patrol and sports events as we move on but the base game is there and now it's time to switch focus to the punishment system mini-game as well as levelling up specific girls with their own in-depth story arcs. This means it's nearly time for a very important poll. We need to decide the order in which the new batch of girls will have their punishment systems fleshed out. The choice will be between Priti, Liz, Faye, Alice and the Twins. So far I've just put in little tasters for each of these girls and now it's time to work on the main courses. When I set the poll (most likely early next week) I'll give a very short outline of where I see each girl's storyline going, along with a few preview pictures, to help people decide which they want to see most. With my new improved animation technique, I should be able to start producing the girls' punishment systems faster than before. However, it's still going to be a fairly long time before I work my way through all these girls so there could be a long wait for whichever girl comes last.

Before we move with the new girls’ storylines though there is one important issue that needs to be resolved. Cassandra is the first girl to get punished in class and one of the first to get a spanking in your office and yet currently she can only go to level 2. It gives new players the impression that the game is a lot less complete than it is, and it's the last major placeholder from chapter one. Cassandra fell through the cracks when I tried to fit hers and Amy's storylines in one update when I made version 0.7 and time pressures subsequently forced me to move on. However, this situation cannot go on indefinitely and I need to dedicate some time to her. The base of her punishment system is there so hopefully it shouldn't take too long to complete it and to get her up to level 5. There are also a few scenes that got cut from version 0.10 that I should be able to add in relatively quickly, including Charlotte getting caught smoking, Harriet getting her comeuppance for her homework-for-chocolate racket and an advancement to the group medical storyline. So that's what I'll be working on in the immediate future. I'm not going to set a date yet for version 0.11, but expect something much quicker than the last two updates. At a rough guess, I’d say six to eight weeks from now.
