Update: Voice Acting Project + New Rewards (Patreon)

Myself, I'm currently melting in the European heat wave, so it's important to stay hydrated with plenty delicious cocktails. 🍹😋

My last public Patreon post was quite a while ago since I've mostly been focusing on keeping my supporters up to date. But today, I want to talk about three topics: 1. the current state of the Home Office Game, 2. an exciting new project, and 3. two new rewards for patrons (including a trial for everyone!).

First off, since some of you non-patrons might not have seen it, I recently released a post from February, which was previously exclusively available for patrons, now for everyone to read. In the post, I discuss the Home Office Game's story, its structure, its characters, and possible sequels.

In my last post, I told you that I was planning to "divide and conquer the Home Office Game by splitting the different storylines into individual projects". So far, this strategy has worked really well! Instead of worrying about the story and game structure as a whole, I'm now only working on DVa's storyline portraying her as an online cam girl. Her story consists of three or four parts, depending on the choices you make during your interactions with her. I still need to add some pictures and dialogue but most of it is already done. Once DVa's part is finished, I will publish it as a standalone preview game on Patreon and continue working on another part of the Home Office Game, probably Nagatoro's girlfriend-storyline. That process continues until all parts of the Home Office Game are finished and I can combine them to the hopefully amazing and captivating experience I'm working towards. 😄

On a related note, since "Home Office Game" is only a working title, I recently had two ideas for its proper game title: Love & Work or Office Romance. I particularly like the latter because it's a common expression and it encapsulates both the work environment and the relationships to other characters, while also implying the game's focus on dialogue and storytelling ("romance" instead of "sex"). Of course, if you have any cool name ideas for this game, let me know!

Yes, you read correctly! The last time I discussed adding voice acting to my games was over one and a half years ago, in the context of the Pony Coinflip game. However, 15ai, the software I was using to generate the characters' voices was so complicated and unstable at the time that I didn't think the technology was ready to be used for an entire game. That changed recently, when fellow JOI game creator and dear supporter of my work Remotly Chaotic told me that they had been experimenting with 15ai and generated the voices for all of the dialogue in Evening at Fluttershy's, my first proper JOI game, published just over three years ago. So they sent me the multiple hundred individual audio files, allowing me to create Evening at Fluttershy's: Remastered with Voice Acting! 🤩

In addition to the new voice acting, I will use the skills I've gained in the last years to improve the original game. Of course, since the voice acting is already generated based on the original dialogue, I can't change the game's text or general strucutre. But I'm sure I'll find other aspects of the game to improve. Regardless, I'm sure it will retain this nostalgic feeling of being my first game.

I'm planning to release this project quite soon, probably before the DVa preview and maybe even later this month. I even thought about creating a demo to show you how the voice acting sounds, but instead I recommend you check out the Voice Acting Demo I created in January of last year. It doesn't feature Fluttershy but it was created using the same software, so Fluttershy's voice will sound similar.

However, the second new supporter benefit is for all patrons! In the last weeks, I have been working on creating a special bot command for our Discord server: By sending "$joivideo" in #joi-fun, the bot now automatically provides you with a randomly chosen JOI video! The video selection pool currently contains more than 60 videos with varying kinks and lengths and I plan on adding more videos in the future. Getting this command to work as intended was a pretty complex task but it was fun to play around with the bot.
