Unseen Scene—First Kiss LI PoV (Farah version) (Patreon)

That smile.

Jeez, that smile!

It’s about all Farah can think as [Name]’s lips curve into the most perfect smile that turns her insides to complete mush.

She swallows hard. “I’d really like to kiss you now.” It’s a struggle to force her gaze up from their lips, but she does so in order to gauge their reaction to the request.

Her lungs sting as she holds her breath waiting for their reply.

Time seems to slow around them as [Name] reaches up, resting a gentle hand on her cheek. The touch elicits a ragged breath of relief from Farah that she fails to keep contained.

Her lip quivers beneath their thumb as they draw a line across it.

They tip their body close, and Farah’s eyes drift closed with anticipation firing an electrical current through every nerve, making her skin tingle.

[Name]’s lips caress a gentle touch across her own mouth, and she fists her fingers into the sofa cushion to keep from eagerly clutching at them to deepen the kiss…but she doesn’t have to wait long for that to happen.

Farah didn’t realise just how much she’d been craving this moment. Or how fiercely her body would react. Her heart drums a happy beat against her ribs, and her limbs go limp for a second as the happiness pours with the raging force of a wildfire through her.

Needing more of the sensation that only [Name] can give, she shifts closer to draw them in.

They eagerly oblige, wrapping their fingers around the back of her neck so as their lips sink further together.

Bliss takes over.

It pushes a smile onto her face that she can’t stop.

If she could radiate with happiness, she’s pretty sure the whole room would be lit up brighter than every star in the sky combined.

When they reluctantly part, she blows out a breath, giving a small shake of her head. It does little to bring her out of the euphoria of the moment.

“Whoa…,” she eventually breathes, the word not even close to covering the extent of how she truly feels.

“Yeah.” A smile lights [Name]’s face just a brightly, causing another shiver of fear to fade from Farah’s spine.

A thundering beat pulses in her ears, which she assumes is her own rapid heartbeat, but as reality seeps back into her mind, she realizes it’s not just hers.

She slides her fingers curiously onto [Name]’s collarbones. “Your heart is racing.” It’s an obvious statement, but she’s never had anyone react so strongly to her before. Could…they really feel just as much as she does?

She’s almost scared to let herself believe it.

Thankfully, a distraction is provided in the form of them tracing their fingers over her wrist, their thumb pressing gently down on her pulse point. “So is yours.”

Her gaze shifts to capture theirs once more. She sucks in a breath to ask for another kiss when the clock decides to give the worst-timed interruption it ever possibly could.

There’s still a moment, a small sliver of anticipation, where the moment holds.

But fear once more tugs her back. “I hope you can sleep better now.”

“I’m not so sure on that…” they admit, sending another hopeful spiral twisting through her. “Guess I better try though.”

‘Don’t go.’ The words press against her closed lips, wanting to break free. ‘I don’t want to be alone. I don’t want to be without you. Not now.’

But even she can’t find the courage to release them, so instead tugs them close once more.

She sweeps her lips across theirs in another kiss. She tries to focus on capturing it all to memory: their taste, their touch, their reactions to her…but she falls into the spell of it too deeply to manage.

When they break away, Farah forces a smile past her worries, just wanting to fully immerse herself in this memory. “I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. Goodnight.”

She watches them as they go, blowing out a breath as though the confines of her body aren’t enough to contain just how happy she truly is…even if tinges of doubt creep like shadows at the edges of the beaming light.
