The Wayhaven Chronicles—Update+ 10/Sept/2021 (Patreon)

Bit of a mixed week this week.

I continued to work on Chapter 7, reading it and playtesting it and then adding in more of the scenes I know I want in there. Then there was a bug, and I was having serious trouble fixing it...except it was something super easy. I was apparently making it way more complicated than it needed to be :D

So I fixed that and tried to move on, but I was struggling with it so switched to Chapter 8 to give my brain a bit of fresh material to work with.

Except I was having trouble getting that together. I think there is a scene in each of them that needs to be transplanted to a later chapter, but I'm seriously hesitant to do it. I know it needs it, and I wouldn't be losing the work because it's just being moved, but still...

But I definitely realised this week that my brain needs a bit of a proper refresh!

So I will be taking next week off to do just that. It was super frustrating this week to try and push through when my brain just wouldn't do what it was told, lol! Think skipping my usual June break this year was not the best move, and I was hoping to hold on until my Christmas break, but I really had to admit defeat.

But in good news, I thought it would be a nice to introduce our newest team member:

Meet Milo!

Milo is a stray kitten that turned up in our garden one day in mid-June. He's gone through a lot, but long story short, he doesn't have an owner so he's now become part of our family.

I was hesitant after losing Max last year in a similar situation, but I fell in love with him the second I saw him, lol.

I didn't want to introduce him until I was sure he was going to be all right, but he's doing super well now! He's putting on weight, has been cleared of infectious diseases, has just been neutered and microchipped. He has some unusual issues with his eyes, but hopefully we'll be able to get on top of those too.

For Update+ this week, an interesting little F moment that might crop up in one of their choice sets...

"Quiet for you maybe," ${felix} comments, making my eyes flicker open to look at ${f_him}. "Hard to enjoy the peace when you can hear people whistling from a mile away."

"Can you not dampen that out in any way?"

$!{f_she} lifts one shoulder in a shrug. "Sometimes. I'll get better at it as I get older." $!{f_his} eyes lock on mine. "It's easier around you. Everything is easier with you."
