Oh man, has it been hot! Hope anyone suffering with heat is managing to stay cool and hydrated!
On Tuesday, my poor laptop had a freak out and then died on me. I couldn't touch it for a while it was so scalding hot, but as you can imagine, I was also freaking out that I had lost all my work for the day!
Thankfully, it was fine after it cooled down! It had been working since about 7:30 am, so it did good to last in the heat until then!
But I'm certainly backing things up much more regularly now! :D
I seriously hammered through A's scene this week!! It's a really different kind of scene for A. There has been a hint of that side of A before in Book Three, but I really like how it's coming out more in this moment, even if only a little but more again. It's all baby steps, right? Hehe! :D
It's definitely a moment where A is more in their comfort zone, and I want that to show, especially around the MC. But also the denial is still there, hanging about them both like a storm waiting to break! But I think people will be surprised at where some of the choices might lead...
On Monday, we had our first Bias video lecture, which was incredibly eye-opening in many ways. I've got to book a follow-up for that, but next Monday I have my second Covid vaccination, which hopefully will go smoothly!
I'm hoping to finish up A's scene next week and move onto the common ending. Then I'll decide whether to jump into Chapter 7 editing or onto Chapter 8's Combat version. I'm really looking forward to the combat scenes! It's not really like the combat scenes in Book Two, because it's more focused towards a particular thing in Book Three, and that makes for all kinds of fun moments...vague, I know, but I don't want to spoil anything, hehe! :D

For Update+ this week, I thought I'd share a little of A's barriers slipping, at least more than they mean to...

"Expect what, exactly?" ${a_she} asks, pausing ${a_his} reading to lean back in ${a_his} chair and examine me.
"Your reason to be so…romantic," I decide on. "It is a beautiful day, but you don't seem to notice things like that most of the time."
$!{a_she} stares at me for a while longer before dropping ${a_his} gaze and leaning over the book again. "I notice the important things. The important people." $!{a_she} pauses. "More than you might think."
