This is a question about/for Adam. How far off am I by saying that he's so hesitant about intimate relationships, because when he last had one which then caused him distraction, and brought his family and or village harm.

Adam's grip almost cracks the wooden arms of the armchair. "I don't believe my…personal life should be open to such prying questions."

"And you better not answer, 'cause you never answer me when I ask that stuff, and I'm way more adorable than they are." Farah turns to you with a wink. 

"When was the last time you even got to do it?" Morgan queries.

A flush of red spreads across Adam's cheeks and nose. "I have no…that's not…the urge—"

"Leave the poor man alone," Nate cuts in with a shake of his head. 

"Thank you," Adam breathes out, relaxing in the chair a fraction as a web of crack radiates across the varnished wood arms of the chair.

Nate rolls his lips together at the damage. 

"But I was in no intimate relationship when…" Adam's voice catches, his lips thinning. He can't seem to push the rest of the words out so instead looks away. 

"Maybe we should move on?" Nate prompts with a gentle smile in your direction.
