Each time Nathan was sucked back into her mouth, his stay in the darkness lengthened. The concept of up and down seemed to blur and a feeling of vertigo spread through him. It was only a matter of time before he would lose consciousness.

After what felt like an eternity, his eyelids were penetrated by soft light and he found himself on the floor of Alice's room. Her toes were towering next to him and from far above, he heard a soft laugh.

Alice: Hey, you're finally awake. I almost thought I had broken you. When I felt your efforts getting weaker and weaker, I somehow felt guilty.

Nathan wasn't able to answer yet, not that it would make any difference.

Alice: To just swallow you would be a little unfair. So I thought I'd at least give you a chance to escape, theoretically. Sounds good, doesn't it?

Nathan: Pl...please, Alice.

Alice: Great! Okay, let me think.
