So those not on my Discord (I highly recommend you join), after making the Pac-Man style game build I decided I wanted to look at if there is a way to take some elements of that Pac-Man style game and implement them into the main game. Cause the Pac-Man style presented me with some level of excitement and tension that I really felt the current builds of Wrapturous Adventure was lacking.

So new change is this new Rotating Camera system, which converts the game from a 2.5D Side-Scroller to a more 3D-style game similar to games like Don't Starve and Cult of the Lamb.

This opens up a lot of things for the game.

  • Instead of the game being almost completely linear, the levels can be way more open-up allowing for much exploration.
  • Game collectibles and Secrets can be more easy to spread out and hidden in the levels, so there actually more of a challenge for the players to find them.
  • Actually gives some additional reasons the game features 4 directional movement in the game, compared to the Side-Scroller which didn't make much use of the forward and back movement.
  • Levels can feature more interesting enemies that can actually be a challenge, such as characters like Mau could actually be like Mr. X from RE2 who can wonder around the levels trying to find the player.

Anyway, I am currently working on taking a Coding Asset for 3D Character AI Enemies, and reworking the coding to work with the 2D Sprites. This is of course to save a lot of time in coding some heavy AI systems for the game and be able to implement enemies and bosses to the level.

Once this is done I will have some new game builds featuring this mechanic for my supporters to test out and play, so expect this in the coming weeks.

Lastly sorry for those that thought the original Side-Scrolling set up worked just fine and you might be thrown off by this change, but again as the developer of the game I felt the game was lacking excitement and tension, and honestly I really didn't felt much fun playing the game I was making and if I don't feel some level of fun when playing the game I developed then I feel like I failed at my goal of making a sexual-theme game that is and actual game that is creative and fun, and not just a game that only entertaining bits are its sexual content. Hope you all understand and expect some more updates soon.
