I'm pulling clips from Sam Raimi's Spider-Man for an upcoming video (Rich and I are going to do a re:View of Darkman) and I noticed this potential little easter egg to Raimi's friends the Coen Brothers. On the wall behind Mary Jane is a very similar looking cartoon woodpecker to the tattoos that Nic Cage and the Bounty Hunter both have in Raising Arizona. It could just be a coincidence since that's also the logo for some auto shop called Clay Smith Cams (the character is apparently named Mr. Horsepower), but considering that there's a spotlight directly on it, as well as the fact that Raimi and the Coens have a close relationship and love to include subtle references to each other (as well as to other filmmakers like Wes Craven), I would assume it's an intentional nod. Pretty neat. --->jay
