Regarding Our Wonder Woman 1984 Review

We just wanted to elaborate on some stuff we got wrong in our Wonder Woman 1984 Half in the Bag. Whoops.

You men speak with words and wisdom beyond your years

Awesome, but where is the D&D commenttrack you guys / hacks promised?

Anonymous

I'm glad every time you guys admit to your fraud

Honestly, that movie was so boring, I've already forgotten half of it, and I sat in a quiet house on the couch and watched the whole damn thing with zero distractions.

Please Jay don’t kidnap anyone

The movie was confusing. I still don’t remember when she made the wish to re-erect Chris Pine. That said, I thought there were good moments and I think Gadot & Pine have good chemistry. That was what made the first movie work for me generally.

You guys are such a class act. Integrity == Willingness to admit when and where you fucked up. Thank-you for your honesty and being authentic -- your fans greatly appreciate this.

Its like an Autopsy review of Star Wars... Paging Dr. Plinkett...

While I agree it's much easier to lock in on a film in the theater, it's still the movies fault that you guys and a lot of us weren't paying attention. Honestly I think if I had seen it in the theater, I would've zoned out or fell asleep like I usually do during mediocre-to-bad superhero films. It's 2 1/2 hours of predictable nonsense, I don't think the audience is to blame for missing a few things here and there that they literally just threw in the film to (try to) make it make sense. Also I love that Mike was out of the room during Chris Pines last scene and didn't know what happened, because I was looking at my phone during that scene and didn't know what happened, haha. I looked up and she was flying so I turned to my bf and was like "Did he just die or something?"

Santino

FUck me its January

Marvin Falz

WW84 must be really bad, when one viewer is in another room, and the others don't pay attention either.

I don't think we ever see her outright make the wish. She just holds the stone and I guess silently makes the wish for him to come back.

Anonymous

this is good bonus content

Anonymous

I believe that their intention was to have Diana renounce her wish in the moment she leaves him, which is partly why she can fly in the next scene. When she starts fighting Cheetah she's wearing armor so Cheetah doesn't think/know she has her powers back. The moment they break from fighting and she says "You renounced your wish" is when SHE finds out, after fighting with Diana and watching her throw the wings off her back. It was Dianas way of telling her "That's right, I'm back, bitch" At least that's how I interpreted it when I watched it, but who knows because it's so fucking sloppy and poorly done lol.

Kellic

Eh it happens. Its all good. In the age of social media where OMG YOU ARE WRONG! LOLS! DIE!!!!! It's OK to be wrong.

Anonymous

It's okay. I still love you.

Mike W

Movie is so bad you guys are allowed to be wrong.

Juan Calvo

Repent yourselves, hack frauds.

A film should never require total silence and darkness to be able to be followed and paid attention to. Sure it makes it easier, but if that’s a prerequisite to be able to enjoy a certain film, then that’s def a shit film you’ve got on your hands

Lisa

If a movie is less interesting than the thought of doing laundry (whether you're watching in the theater or at home) then that's the movie's fault, not the viewer's.

Rhea

"I wasn't paying attention but to be fair it was extremely stupid and boring and I had other shit to do" would be a good pull quote

Manuel Johnen

It's always a bad sign when the audience puts more thought into a movie than the people who made it...

Jake De Agrela

Now I feel like a poo poo head for commenting about these hack frauds!

Zach Dewoody

I was looking at my phone when Chris Pine met her at the party and I didn’t realize he was in someone else’s body until about half way into the movie.

Darren Pierce

I think of this movie as anime.. People yell and scream and cry and emote and it turns out OK in the end. When people ask you "What happened?" you just shrug.

David Perek

Perhaps, but even for anime movies are usually held to a higher standard, and are usually willful fanservice/schlock or actually trying to be art. For example, watch the movies of Hosoda, Shinkai, or Tomino. They are not always perfect but at least they are trying. Heck, even movies like Pokemon "The Power of Us" have more tasteful writing and direction than half of these DC movies.

AllGoodNamesRGone

When Mike explains it I can totally see his point regarding the story. I hope someday there's an expose on what exactly happened with this movie. It seems like Patty Jenkins should get the blame since she wrote the story and rejected cutting either the mall or the marathon scenes.

Anonymous

The entire movie should have been (and almost was) just like the mall scene. They're trying too hard with these movies to make them into something bigger and more. Franchise fever is driving producers to make the next juggernaught instead of just letting them be the airbrushed vans of the time. If this were a lower budget movie, no one would question the fedex arrival of a cool costume. Hire passionate writers, make the thing for like 5 million and call it a day. At least we got a great poster out of this.

Anonymous

I think it needs to be reiterated that these same guys will sit through the entirety of the likes of Ryan's Babe, Robot in the Family, Suburban Sasquatch, Ben & Arthur, Partners, Things, etc, in some cases multiple times, for in-depth analysis. That should tell you all you need to know about WW84.

Anonymous

They got confused by thinking the plot would be smarter. I like the idea of using the suit to make up for lost powers. It just comes off like they wrote the scene to get the suit in its current form. Also, could have included the guys family looking for him... “he ran off with some laaady”

Anonymous

All I know about that Blob movie is the trailer ran in front of Short Circuit 2 when I was a kid and it scared the shit out of me

Anonymous

So many good things about the Blob. I watched it just this summer for the first time since the mid 90s. Blob swat.

Jessie Zimmer

I also wonder what part Gadot had in the fuckery. I realized while trying to watch, she's listed as a producer in the opening credits. Isn't it an open Hollywood secret that producers tend to be talentless assholes with control issues?

Anonymous

Totally. I remember Ang Lee's Hulk movie boring me so much I went and did some ironing. Will be skipping WW84.

Anonymous

to be fair she does say she renounced her wished.... and he does ask he too do that..... I think if they had a scene with him like leaving the world or whatever happened while they were fighting would have been pretty cool..... like if she renounced her wish and he was looking at planes.... and just went away.... been a nice touch

Anonymous

I’m still baffled that the plot was based around a magic stone.
