We shot our Twin Peaks re:View over the weekend and it ended up being over three hours long! I tried a different style of lighting for this one partially just to experiment but also because I thought a moody noir-ish style would be appropriate for the topic. It ended up looking kind of crappy honestly.  So then I tried to "fix" it in editing by converting it to high contrast black and white and it looked so much better that you would think it was designed to be that way (which it wasn't)! The only problem is that I made the probably dumb decision to wear a giant dress shirt and bright green Dougie Jones jacket and in black and white, it just looked like I was wearing an ugly oversized suit for no reason. So the image above turned out to be the best compromise, and probably the only movie or show that a decision like this would feel appropriate for.

Now to get editing. This will definitely end up being split into at least two parts...maybe more! We'll see how it goes.

So excited for this 🙏 Been waiting on this for years

Anonymous

Can’t wait!

Anonymous

Just finished the series over the weekend... this coming Re:View was what finally got me off my ass to finish, so thanks! Can't wait.

Rhea

That was quite a story

Poo In An Alleyway

I cannot fully express how excited I am for this. It may be slightly more than what is considered reasonable by any sane person.

Anonymous

Love it! Somehow I timed this perfectly as I’m nearly finished with The Return after watching all of the original series and the film. I can’t wait for this! I love season 3 so much

Mike St Louis

That’s awesome guys. This is my most anticipated video of the year. I can sit through 2 or 3 sessions easily. We’re not paying you enough!!

Anonymous

This looks like its right out of Sin City! So cool!! Also, I'm looking forward to this, although I only saw season 1, skipped season 2, and only watched one episode of the return thinking it got too stupid. XD But I watch this! :D

Anonymous

So glad you guys finally did this. Can't wait

Anonymous

I laughed my ass off reading this. Can't wait. Helllloooooooooooo!

Anonymous

It looks in tune with Lynch's surrealist style

Anonymous

This is borderline experimental

Anonymous

Christmas is coming early. Can't wait!

Anonymous

Damn, guess I should get to working my way through Twin Peaks finally

Anonymous

tl;dr; I've got good news!

Anonymous

Very excited for this! Enjoyed the Return so much that I spray painted a shovel gold and hung it by my door.

Anonymous

Jay is going for that David Byrne look.

Anonymous

Awesome! Merry Christmas to me. I requested this not too long ago, and RLM delivers!

Anonymous

Also, how about a before image just for comparison's sake?

Anonymous

It's stylistically designed to be that way and you can't undo that, but we can diminish the effects of it.

Lisa

I'm seeing two hitmen who can't be bothered finishing the job for which they were hired. Really looking forward to this. Please don't die.

Ashley

I'm excited! I love to watch people talk about Twin Peaks even more than I love to personally watch Twin Peaks.

Brad Bunch

I'm so happy I could shit! Mike and Rich's most recent 36 hours of discussing Star Trek caused me to watch almost six seasons of TNG, but I kept hoping you guys would re:view this ever since you did FWWM and Eraserhead. Thank you, and happy Christmas!

Anonymous

Very excited about this! But I'll have to pass until I finally make it through the series. It's so good but hard to digest.

Zane Magers

I watched all of Twin Peaks and the Return JUST off of your recommendations. I have been awaiting this moment for SO LONG, even tweeted at you for this Jay! 😁 Thanks for never letting us down

Anonymous

You look cute as always, Jay!

Anonymous

So pumped for this!!

Anonymous

jay, dont take this personally, but i've never seen Twin Peaks. Hopefully this will inspire me to watch

Anonymous

Looks great! All it needs is a chimpanzee angsting over a chicken.

Anonymous

You broke new ground!

Anonymous

Hey, you never know how something will look until you try! It was worth the experiment, imho. I'm sure you learned from it and can keep trying new techniques.

Anonymous

Honestly just give us the full 3 hours! If people are willing to sit through Twin Perfect’s nearly 5 hour monologue about The Return, I think it’s safe to say folks will tune in to watch Jay “Susan” Bauman and The Wizard discuss the show as well... We live inside a dream.

Anonymous

Jay I feel like you’re channeling lispy 80s Australian film reviewer Bill Collins. Check him out https://youtu.be/2ZpcPMTbMxo

Dougie Jones suit jacket hype

Anonymous

Thanks for your hard work dad

Anonymous

You are the most adorable Dougie. I’m very excited for this.

Anonymous

I remember posting about how much I wanted Jay to Re:View The Return and I wouldn’t care if it was 4 hours long, and my dream actually came true. One can say this is an awesome Christmas gift, I’m super happy.

Anonymous

That's actually a great accidental artistic choice. Can't wait for this.

Anonymous

No episode solely for episode 8? Lol jk

Anonymous

Different is fun. Looking forward to this!

Anonymous

Been looking forward to this one for a long time!

Anonymous

If you thought we wouldn't want a three hour conversation from you two about Twin Peaks, you were so wrong.

Neil Peart, Lord of Drums

Wow, you didn't have to admit any of that, and everyone would have thought your "choices" were brilliant if you didn't. Necessity is the mother of invention!

Anonymous

I can’t wait Mistah Jay! I don’t even watch twin peaks but I’ll watch anything RLM

Anonymous

Yes! YES! "HELLOOOOOOOO!"

Anonymous

This is David Lynch's masterpiece.

Anonymous

Been waiting over 3 years for you two to discuss this - can't wait!

Anonymous

You guys rock. Nothing else to say <3

Marvin Falz

The picture looks great. The color of Dougie's jacket stands out from all other colors as well. Not as emphasized as in a b/w environment. But since the green of Dougie's jacket is unique and belongs to one of the main characters, the only one who finds "home," the color probably has some outstanding meaning attached to it.

Anonymous

Hell yes

Anonymous

If you guys don’t like this I’m going to get a refund on all my Patreon contributions for dishonest business practices

Anonymous

Awesome, I'm looking forward to it!

Munchman

Noice. BTW wanna thank you guys again for putting me on to UHF and FREAKED! Also thanks all you guys for inspiring me to start making my own Movays.

Anonymous

Haha, looks funny, but I'm sure you can make it work

Anonymous

Omg I love it

Anonymous

It's happening again

Anonymous

Oh fuck yes

schopi

holy shit, nice!

Anonymous

Three or four parts, doesn't matter! Waiting eagerly for the review, I'm so curious about your thoughts on the return in particular :)

Rudolf Rohaczek

your 2017 twin peaks review brought me to the rlm universe, so looking forward to this

Anonymous

oh lord. You have officially annoyed me more the Star Trek crap!

Anonymous

Hell yes

Anonymous

I am insanely excited for this.

Anonymous

Dope. Been waiting for an in depth discussion on this. Got some Two Women set aside to enjoy with it when it's done.

Anonymous

lmao jay, if the poofy green jacket made you visibly feel awkward, then it all worked out for the best

Anonymous

This reminds me of me trying to explain editing issues I have to my co-host, who just kind of nods and says "I probably wouldn't have noticed any of that either way. But hey, as long as you're happy with how it turns out, sounds good." 👍

Anonymous

Tell Mike and Rich to do Discovery season 3. I need the schadenfreude

Anonymous

Also the color of the ring and the Formica table and SPOILER Freddie’s glove. Green definitely has a significance

Anonymous

So Excited!!!! Did you guys also watch the documentary?

Anonymous

Feel free to make this as long as you like!

Anonymous

Oh no multiple parts of the most intresting piece of art ive seen on tv in years, drats.

Anonymous

I'm really excited to watch this at least 20 times over the next year or two when its released

AllGoodNamesRGone

This will be good. It's always an interesting watch when Jay or Mike discuss the stuff they love... and the stuff they hate. Which is why the Star Trek and Lynch stuff is good, but so were the Jack and Jill and "Million Ways to Die in the West" Half in the Bags.

Anonymous

Wow. I was wondering if you'd talk about it just yesterday.

Anonymous

This is the water. And this is the well. Drink full and descend. The horse is the white of the eyes and dark within

Adrian Graves

Ive wanted to know your thoughts on the ending for so long!

Anonymous

Are we getting a BOTW Xmas episode this week?

Anonymous

Drink full, and descend....

Damien beatty

I have been excited for this for three years now. Now I read that it will be at least two parts. This is the greatest Xmas present I have received since the Kenner AT-AT walker!

Anonymous

This is gonna be goooood

Anonymous

That was a good episode. Although the lack of structure annoyed this viewer a little.
