Results of January Poll 2024 (Patreon)

Hello Patrons! Thanks for voting in this year's January Poll! I have the results put together, with a little breakdown of the results, and what has changed from year to year. Do have a look at the graphs in the post for more details. Conclusions and final thoughts are also below.

Who are your favourite characters?

Some of the results have not changed, the Roommates are still popular, but Karl and Jordan rose in popularity, with Peter Byron and Jerry Sandridge dropping a few places. Interestingly though, and sadly, Massimo had gone from being mildly popular to the least popular. I find that quite interesting! 

Keith, Markus and Seth came in very high, despite only recently been released. Spunklings came in quite low though, disappointingly. 

Also interesting is that the Nerd and Jock have overtaken Der Skater in popularity. Kyle and Tommy, and Junpei and the swimmers came in mildly popular. 

Conclusion: Many of the favourites haven't changed too much, but 2023's new characters did become very popular. Karl and Jordan became popular as they had a new animation featuring them. But fantastical characters like Massimo, Stelthwick, and Spunklings have not done so well.

I do aim to make more of the Gaymers, including Trent and Dylan. Star Love is also popular (accounting for the feedback on Twitter also), so they may return soon!

What content and kinks do you like to see?

Anal is definitely the most popular. The feedback on some of the animation that has anal featured is very positive. Msny of you also are into kinks, which I am all for.

The graph has mostly stayed the same except for a few things: Romance and relationships saw a huge jump in popularity this year! Also interestingly, feet and sneakers used to rank very low, with sneakers usually coming into bottom. But this time around they have rose in popularity. Maybe it is because I have been able to nudge these fetishes into my works nicely. 

New entries such as latex, rubber and leather didn't do so well. But cum play, gaming, sex toys and underwear still show large popularity. 

Conclusion: While I do see results in making content following the graphs, such as anal gaining a positive response, I should be less afraid to explore more of the less popular kinks such as sneakers and feet, which in time become more popular when those fetishes are featured. But it can be a tricky thing, as there are always opportunities for failure.

Are you more into story or action?

Overwhelmingly, the balance of story and action is optimal. I had heard from many that it is this balance that makes my brand unique. I really should not have been surprised, I am more surprised at how mostly unanimous this is. 

Conclusion: I will certainly take story into consideration more often. Relationships and how they develop are consistently popular, and it is something I would love to explore more of. 

Do you prefer quality or quantity?

The results make me happy, as it would be great to work on more complex projects, as long as you are willing to wait. But overwhelmingly, the way I have been doing animation releases is all good, so I won't change how I do things this way!

Conclusion: I will keep doing what I am doing in regards to animation releases.

Fantasy or reality?

I was most curious about this, and a little down about the results, but it is highly valuable information. I love animation for making the impossible possible. But Massimo, Stelthwick and Spunklings did not do great, and I had a feeling it is because fantasy might be too off-putting for some. Suggestion boxes also suggest more real to life situations such as locker rooms and such. I don't want to spend five months animating something too fantastical if many are not going to like it. 

However, Star Love is still very popular, so I can't count out all fantasy. 

Conclusion: I will tend more towards real life situations and settings, and less with fantastical scenarios. But Star Love may come back again soon!

Should all projects have patron credits?

The results are inconclusive, as quite a few of you don't care for being credited. But mostly for large projects as has been done in the past.

Conclusion: I will keep credit call the same as usual with no changes.

Are you happy with how the suggestion box works?

An overwhelming number of Diamond Hard Patrons agree that the way the suggestion box is run is all good.

Conclusion: I will run the suggestion box the same way as I have done.

What merchandise would you be interested in buying?

The results are consistent with the last time this was voted on, except many of you also like an art book, or underwear.

Conclusion: At this time I am continuing research into how I can make this all possible!

Final thoughts

The polls this year has confirmed a few theories I had for a while (such as concerning story and action), with a few surprises. Seeing sneakers and feet rise in popularity confirms that with some exposure, those kinks can become more acceptable (within reason of course). But overall I will not need to change things if they are not broken! 

I will bring more that you want to see, while also bringing some new things in smaller doses to test the water. I hope to have merch available soon as well. Your support is highly appreciated. Thank you all for participating in this year's January Poll!
