Part of the private stream requests, Sturm asked for something with younger Vicky. While her tech is usually top of the line bordering on alien (and sometimes is), there's one piece of antiquated hardware she refuses to get rid of: an old analog handset. To her, the noise, texture, and lack of clarity is as comforting and familiar as father's scent.

there used to be a pay phone by the public pool in my old home town. A friend of mine's dad was dead set against cell phones back in the 90s (he was convinced they caused brain cancer), so he knew the phone numbers of all the pay phones in town so he wouldn't have to call people on cell phones. I noted the pool one because it was always so funny watching people freak out when the phone rang, and it always ended up being my friends dad.

Holy crap, there's way to much cute and feels all wrapped up in this pic. Very nice and touching.

Nothing like a good ol' handset landline phone! Does one thing, and one thing only - but it's perfect at what it does. Now if they could only bring back phone booths, if only so you could have a place to stand out of the noise and wind while you talk....

Real talk? Nothing's quite as dramatic to me as a phone booth. It's like the classic version of a burner phone, y'know? So mysterious and shit, and ringing phone booths are scary as shit, 'cause it's like, "Who the fuck calls a phone booth?"
