During our pre-pro and discovery phase of Riley Reid Redux, we ran some fun tests to see what we could do with pre-rendered 360 videos. We used these experiments to test out the limitations of Unreal 5’s new capabilities and to push our ideas to their limits. We took the time to render out these test spaces, and cut together a few short experiences for you to enjoy.

We will be looking into building a launcher on Itch.io so you can experience all of our content there; but until then, here are some early glimpses of our experiments.

Feel free to check out the Holodexxx blog to see full trailers of these tests.

Euphoria Alive (UE4: 2D)

Euphoria Alive allows us to push the boundaries of Unreal 4 video production with our previous generation model of Marley Brinx. Before creating a new model in Unreal 5; we needed to understand where our current model fell flat. In the video, Euphoria enters the scene, seductively poses for the viewer; intimately run her hands over he body; and shows off, in detail, portions of her body. Euphoria then leaves the scene with the viewer wanting more.

To create this video, we found a video that we all felt had compelling shots and composition, and endevoured to match that video shot for shot. It was an interesting experiment in production within Unreal, and taught us a ton of valuable lessons. The outcome of that experiment was knowing that we needed to make the jump into Unreal 5 in order to get the results we desired.

The GlowFish (UE5: 2D, Stereoscopic 360)

GlowFish was our earliest Unreal 5 experience. We played around with performant particle effects, and an early version of a Metahuman body. It was a good starter experience in the engine, and allows us to have some blue sky fun with a totally blank slate.

The Glowfish features the large creature fun of The Blu, and the environment of a Scandinavian cove. The ending explosion allowed us to experiment with particle effects; and to begin to learn how to use them effectively. Take a look!

Euphoria Meets Cyberspunk (UE5: 2D / Stereoscopic 360)

Euphoria Meets Cyberpunk is our nod to our obvious inspirations; namely Blade Runner and Cyberpunk. Euphoric (Marley Brinx) is a human companion to a willing and waiting sex bot we named Cyberspunk (expect more of Cyberspunk in the future). Marley poses for Cyberspunk, sucks his robotic dick; and then gets fucked by his extendo-wang; while he dances in excitement. Weird? Yes, informative? Also yes!

EMC taught us a lot about the new lighting system, Lumen, and made us rethink how we light interior and exterior spaces to be performant (we didn’t succeed, but we learned a lot.) We also learned a lot about how to animate in Unreal, and in general, how 360 rendering worked in Unreal. We think the experiment is a pretty fun experiences; and you should take it for a spin.

Dance of the Giantess (UE5: 2D / 360 Stereoscopic)

Dance of the Giantess was a blue sky idea that we should return to the origins of VR; and play with what it does best — namely scale, and immersion. We wanted to create an impressive experience that allows people who get off on giantism; feet worship; and vore to feel those feels in virtual reality. The Giantess picks up the Player, dances (too close) pleasures herself; then consumes the Player. DotG helped us explore what is great about VR; and how rich the experience can be if we start designing our experiences with an open mind.

DotG taught us a lot about designing performant open spaces; by using the Unreal Quixel infinite textures we are able to scale objects in a dynamic way and now blow up our production rig. We also learned a lot about the Metahuman pipeline, and how to modify it’s base models to include the geo that we obviously need for Holodexxx content. DotG is a fun experience, and one that you can share with your non-Holodexxx friends. VR is made for giantism and vore.

Working through this process allowed us to ramp up on the newest capabilities of the Unreal 5 engine, and deliver on our first UE5 experience — Riley Reid Redux. We think the results speak for themselves; and that the explorations were well worth the time!
