Turns out Loki's offspring, Jormungandr, is actually a woman, rather than a giant serpent. Or maybe Jormungandr is, in fact, the World-Serpent but can disguise itself as a woman?

Well, either way, here she is showing us just a fraction of her power.

Maybe you might have guessed, but I've been going a-vikingr in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla lately. Inspired by that, and the fact that I had a snake tattoo from one of the characters I have, I looked into Jormungandr, the World-Serpent. Turns out, in actual mythology, Loki knocked-up a Jotun (frost giant) woman (or maybe a few) and had 3 "children" that were all beasts. One was Jormungandr, another I forget the name of, and the third was Fenrir, the giant wolf that will set fire to the world at Ragnarok while Jormungandr spews poison into the sky. Fun stuff.
