Hey all, time for a status update. This post covers news on art projects, SubscribeStar and my personal situation.

Now also on SubscribeStar

As I mentioned a while back, I had planned to open up an account on SubscribeStar to serve as an alternative way to support me. It's now open for business, though I'm still working on the features and it's kind of empty right now.

SubscribeStar is similar to Patreon. You choose a tier, pay a monthly subscription and get access to the creator's posts depending on chosen tier, etc. Discord access also, for those who like to hang out at my Discord server. The goal is to get my SubscribeStar service to function as identically to Patreon as possible. Content delivery will be the same for the most part, with the exception of no end-of-month archives (subscriptions can begin and end any day of a month), and all content is delivered as it's ready, including high-res versions and such. I will likely adopt some of those things on Patreon as well, so no one feels the one of the two is superior.

But why SubscribeStar when there's Patreon? Well, maybe some of you don't like Patreon, for instance. And having alternatives is always a good thing. If you're happy with your pledge on Patreon, then no worries, keep pledging like usual! I still have full intention of keeping Patreon as my primary site for support. However, I could use some subscriptions on SubscribeStar, even if just temporarily, to test content delivery and Discord access. So if you feel like helping out with that, I'd be super grateful.

Art News

It's been two weeks since last colored artwork. What's going on?

Don't worry, stuff is in the works, and I'm aiming to complete 2-3 colored works before the month ends. I've just been busy with a special project. I have some backlogged requests from the highest pledge tier supporter, and we agreed on doing a short comic, with colored pages. Initially it was meant to be 2-3 pages, but it's actually going to be 4 pages long, plus possibly a cover page as bonus. I have the drafts for pages 1-3 almost complete. As soon as all drafts are done, I will focus on coloring stuff. Not necessarily the comic in question at first though. There's also the other ongoing comic and other stuff that needs to be done soon. Either way, expect plenty of comic pages for the next month or two.

Personal Situation

My health has been fine since last update. I did have a bronchoscopy done on Monday though, which sapped some of my strength for Monday and Tuesday, but I'm good now. What's a bronchoscopy? A rather unpleasant procedure where doctors examine the inside of your lungs and take tissue samples. Basically, anesthetics, sedatives and a tube down the throat. I think the worst part was swallowing the anesthetic spray. Felt like puking and coughing while it was being sprayed. Surprisingly, the rest wasn't that bad. The sedatives knocked me out for most of the procedure. All I remember is the tube being inserted, couple of coughs, a faint memory of one of the doctors holding a flask of some sort, then the tube being taken out and the doctor saying 'all done, that went well' or something. Considering how unpleasant they said the procedure would be, it was a relief it wasn't worse than that.

The bronchosopy was done to further confirm that the thing with my lungs is sarcoidosis (which the doctors still seemed confident it to be), so my cortisone medication will continue and hopefully take care of it down the line. I should get results on the tests they did in about 2 weeks. I have some other tests scheduled for the coming months, so I'll probably have short breaks here and there, but should be able to keep doing art as usual otherwise.
