mitch anderson

Fyodor activated his trap card lol

YoungSalsa

That would’ve 100% got me idk how you avoid that besides not going in in the 1st place

DatKid_Kaneki

nah what…. this is WHAT😭😭

Jeremiah Wagner

Nah bro. That was actually crazy. Need to get rid of that whole book and the page

Kano Misogi

I love how no matter what plan the angonist makes, they make sure to get Dazai out of the picture first to not risk him negating everything.

I think the power of the book activates once the armed detective agency decides they are going to investigate the cases of murder. Also wasn’t somebody looking for a sealed book last season? Also have we seen. Nikolai before?

Anorak

Just a heads up, when they were talking about the book they said “causal” not “casual”, as in cause and effect. So everything you write down in there has to follow a cause and effect relationship, you can’t just start writing random shit and have it happen.

It was the reality changing page they were talking about in this episode, in the episode, we saw scenes of someone writing something like it was a story like the dialogues that Nikolai was saying to when it revealed who was underneath the white hood. the Agency was basically meeting all the condition of the book listed in this episode, since it flowed like a story while having causality (karma) which Lupa unironically explained pretty well while memeing... as they went alone to save the hostage, the hostages has a hostile relationship with them, the time and place, and how they had Kenji (farmer boy) attacked the military police... basically setting themselves up to be the bad guys

Hello

I mean yeah it's a serious problem. Not to mention his immense intelligence that's on the same level as rampo at least. You'll see why too. Cannot wait for more to be adapted.

KeYo

yoo thats very wild. i wonder if they could have done something just crashing in through the window to throw off the writer off the page....or were they fucked either way lol

Devin B

The only thing I can think of to avoid following the story would be to get rid of the page of that particular part of the story but without any information beforehand there's no way to go against the story, you probably would've popped up there regardless of where you were when you're part is coming up

Poet

I'm curious what other limitations are on That ability because it seems insanely powerful because technically in the anime it says it just has to stay in the confined and fluidity and continuity of a story but essentially you can create the story slowly but gradually into something more and more crazier as long as it makes sense in the chain of events leading to it So they said they can't summon aliens out of the blue but what if they made a story where one of the satellites we have out there makes contact and we find something alien and therefore through certain events we somehow get in contact with alien life

J

I mean the show really does kinda gloss over the hundreds of murders with no repercussions because they became a good guy in the end.

Kisuke01

I usually have a snack while watching y'all reactions... this was the wrong episode to have one 😭

Moons

I’ve read the manga but I’ve never noticed that the cover of the book that rewrites reality has "Stray dogs" written on it 🤯 they said the book was created by a gifted individual… What if the author of BSD is a character in the story ?

Arc

That ability was the book. It changes reality based on the contents.

causality => cause & effect, not casual.

The scenes where it shows someone writing down in a book is that person using the stolen page to frame the agency. They explained that to use the books power to alter reality you have to write out a method and narrative of how that reality can come to be. Like Sheera said, you can't just write for someone to die, you have to write it out like your writing a story.

HessianX

You think you know a manga/anime and then the mangaka decides to use trap chainsaws to kill 6 people. That's not Chainsawman. lol

K. Unknown

I'm guessing that possibility is probably why it's kept secret and hidden, the narrative validity condition is not even close to airtight

Malcolm Washingon

Even without the reality change switcheroo at the end, the setup was disgusting.

Mervyn Larrier

I think for that to work you'd legit need to dedicate a decent amount of lore to establish the aliens' existence in the world.

Kwaku Afari

Ya'll should never doubt Dazai lol
