Not going to be a full flashback season. It's organized like Season 2 or 3? Where they had a mini flashback arc and then it led into the rest of the season. That document closet fight was so good. Bungo really comes up with some unique fight sequences. Also loving the noire feel to this flashback.

It's probably like the other seasons where the first couple of episodes is a flashback and then it goes back to the present. My favorite flashback arc is still the one with Oda.

Idk about it tbh. I read the manga from season 3 (so I started on about chapter 53) and this isn't where the anime left off nor is this later down the line. Either this is filler or the previous seasons didn't adapt this. I wish they would get to the manga if it's the former

Apparently this is from the official LNs. BSD has like eight LNs, including the dead apple and dazai chuuya fifteen years old. If I'm not mistaken the starting flashbacks are all from the novels

What are you talking about? I like the flashbacks and I know we need them for context. I’m saying I don’t think roshi meant anything by what he said. And if you actually watched the video Roshi said that it will probably be a flashback arc not the whole season IN THE VIDEO😭. Not sure why you had to waste your breath making a hate comment. This season is gonna be like the previous two where we start with a flash back arc and later get into current events. This flashback isn't actually adapted from the manga; its adapted from an LN called The Untold Origins of the Detective Agency this arc should be pretty short since based on the trailer they're the gonna have to adapt a lot of current story.

a lot of the flashbacks in the beginning are adaptations from the light novels which has been the general formula now for bungo also it’s funny that you guys don’t remember oda 😂 hopefully later on it all clicks for u guys

the light novel that this flashback is based on is “The untold origins of the detective agency”, it’s canon to the whole story fyi.

If I remember correctly in season 1 they said The president created their agency and gathered all those people specifically for Ranpa.

A bit sad the Trio didn't remember Oda, but then again, the Oda flashback was back in Season 2 along with the time it took in between that season and Season 4. Plus, this is smol Oda this season... the President and Ranpo looks basically the same even after more than a decade past too XD

tbh, this is smol Oda and Old Oda flashback was in Season 2 so they prob didn't put 2 and 2 together, especially with characters like Ranpo and the Pres looking almost the same as their present self XD... but it will prob be quite fun to see them either react to it after the Patreon Comment tells them, or them realizing it with time

I mean, last season's Chuuya flashback had almost no connection to the rest of the season. Mind you, I still enjoyed the episodes, but they felt kinda randomly added in. Perhaps this flashback will be relevant to the season? I'm not a manga reader, so I have no idea.
