Loved the way this episode was handled! Two tragic characters

Comments

Jeremiah Wagner

I loved this episode. Because you still hate the headmaster but to Atsushi he was his only father figure

Just a side question for the comment section cause i might have missed an announcement or something: What happened to Bungo Stray Dogs double uploads? Did another show take the spot of the second episode or do they have some private stuff going on thats taking up some extra time? Thanks in advance friends

Woah

That is what I am wondering aswell.

Destiney Marie

Truck-kun is back with vengeance😔✋

Jdogzero Silverblade

tbh atsushi is an idiot for getting stuck under water as well as not just using his ability to get out.

Devin B

The headmaster really put Atsushi through all that suffering just so that he could have the mindset of wanting to prevent anyone from going through what he went through. I can't say that the headmaster is good but for the most part he's not evil.

Totally Thomas

I don't ship alot, but Atsushi and Lucy are hilarious and wholesome tbh

Jalen Perry

Yeah I was wondering where the episode was last week and want to see if they’ll catch up this week

Anonymous

Yeah in the end i don't mind, I'm just glad they are enjoying the season so much, cause it really is good

BZD

Roshi beat me to it, but that Headmaster pulled an Itachi.

BZD

I like the fact that Rampo didn’t even need to go to the case, he had already solved it, but he knew it would be more meaningful if Atsushi figured out what was going on by himself.

In the manga it goes more in depth why the headmaster did what he did

Bubblegum402

I never really liked how season 3 was handled if I’m being honest they rushed everything and it didn’t have a proper flow they had a lot of content skipped but who knows maybe in season 4 if it ever comes out they will handle it better

Devin B

Did they go more in depth around this time in the manga or further down the story

Reign

just go read. Season 3 is lowkey the worst season. It skips alot of content and context to things. These 2 backstories were hella rushed.

Something you might have missed when, Atsushi and Anne lost their clothes they had the same scars on their bodies

This episode really hit the feels considering how it was all "parental related" to the two youngest and newest members of the Agency. I really disliked how Atsushi was treated in the flashback (getting the shit beaten out of him) but then I had this insane thought that maybe hit the feels harder for me. What if the Headmaster did all that to atsushi so that the entire orphanage would'nt beat him senseless and turn atsushi into a humanity hater like others would've if they were beaten senseless by a large group of people. Atsushi was a "monster" by others but clearly the headmaster didn't see that entirely here. So maybe to satisfy and to prevent anyone from torturing and hurting atsushi he did it himself and to make Atsushi only hate him. The others obviously still verbally abused Atsushi but Atsushi never really gave a shit about them cause it does not beat what the headmaster did. Which is why the line "never hate yourself" came in after he said "hate me". Just a weird little idea that came to mind that lowkey made me hit the feels a bit more for the headmaster and how Atsushi saw him as a father. The headmaster wanted Atsushi the hate only him and never himself or anyone else. Well at the end of the day I highly doubt this is the case and whatever happened to him is too screwed up and like you guys said he should've been treated better.

I know its meant to evoke some complex feelings, but id like to think atsushi knows deep down that that was never his father, like the only tall male that ever spoke to you everyday does not equate to parental status. I can understand the Itachi parallels but also lets not do my boy like that murder will always be less evil than abuse lmao

yaboyroshi

So what happened was in order to get Slime out on time it took one of the Bungo slots but Next week will be back to doubles weekly since TR ends Saturday and Slime ends next week! So 3 more weeks of Bungo episodes until S3 is over!

Devin B

They already know about the scars from last season when Anne showed hers to Atsushi on the Moby Dick and he showed her his

Nana

Bro even if it was one person hurting him atsushi still could’ve easily turned into a humanity hater considering it was still a human who abused him…..

Nana

Orphanage director is dumb asf nigga can’t be compared to itachi.

Jacota Lucian

More of a backround story for the Headmaster, hes a fucked up man that came from a fucked orphanage(were he basicly recieved the same treatment as atsushi or maybe worse, wich made him resent humanity),joined a criminal underground group with his friends during the war, lost his friends, found a bunch of dead kids from starvation cause of the war. What he did to atsushi was more or less to prevent atsushi from becoming like him, especially with the kind of power he had,if atsushi became any other kind of person then things could have changed drasticly, anyways onto the next episode wich is fucking awesome

Ahhh, gotcha, that makes sense. Thanks for the update Roshi, keep up the good work, you guys always make my day <3

Giyuu

There’s 3 seasons damn

Gizmowat

fair enough, in a lot of animes I've seen its typically a group of people so that's where my idea came from

Gizmowat

darn didn't know that about the headmaster. Still fucked up with what he did but that's quite the past he had and just sucks that he never got to do what he wanted to do (the whole giving flowers to him and whatever else he had in store)

OniBaka

Hey kinda random but any chance y’all down to stream deltarune 1 and 2 , don’t know where to post to recommend games

kurumi Tokisaki

Deep episode. Him not understanding his feeling towards the head master hit hard. Not love, not hate, hard to resent some one when you don't understand them. Maybe he forgives him one day or forgets him when he himself is dead and gone.

Arknightoni

And "could've" is the keyword there. This whole thing is literally a mix of both Naruto and Sasukes stories. Instead of taking his anger out on the world he decided to be positive and protect others no matter how much bad treatment he got. And his dad is the Itachi in this whole thing. He definitely could've gone about it another and protected Atsushi but I doubt he could so he tortured him instead so all that hatred would be solely on him. No matter how you look at it his story is tragic af and the thought that he lost the closest thing to a father to him make it even worse. ESPECIALLY knowing that he was on his way to check on him and very likely apologize for the way he treated him.

Arknightoni

And I wholeheartedly agree. We didn't get the rest of that line till this episode. I personally felt bad and teared tf up knowing this.

Nana

To each their own. This shit didn’t need to happen to make atsushi a good person imo. He was simply taking out his anger on atsushi in my eyes and it just happened to have benefits. Shit is different.

I enjoy this episode alot i just wish they could have kept the rest of the scenes from the manga they didnt go over the headmasters past, or that he treated atsushi like that not just so he would hate him and not himself but to also to prepare him for all the fucked people hed inevitably run into, and they didnt have atsushi"s talk with akutagawa.

Leaky Peach

You're kidding, right? Please tell me you're kidding. Both are reprehensible, but murder (especially of innocents) cuts someone's life short. Unlike abuse, where you have the possibility of bouncing back, murder removes that possibility. Now let me repeat: both are reprehensible and shouldn't be compared in such a way as to say which is more evil.

Gizmowat

If I may ask, do you have a link for the BSD manga? I'm very interested now haha.

Mirz Mirz

I probably couldve worded it better but what i mean is that I think it takes a lot more to abuse someone continously. Also that abuse was way worse than just biting the bullet once, thats what i mean

Mr.Fox

First of all, thanks for the reaction! Love seeing you guys watch so many different shows :3 And second, totally random question: When will the next Lupa-San JJBA experiences be uploaded? ^_^

J

...why wouldnt you just cut the gun of the husband? Nottoo sure why immediate death was the first option

Gizmowat

Well, if we think about it correctly, the other assassins that tried to kill them also have weapons so he'll probably just pick up a new weapon. One did literally die on the table and behind him. Aside from the fact that this blood ability is forcing control on the father. The mom probably didn't know how long it would take before complete control of the body (if it were possible and I mean where the father's body moves as easily as the assassins did under the control). Based on how the mom relies mostly on her ability as well, she probably can't do hand to hand combat quite well. Cutting off the limb could work but that dosen't do much but make the father suffer as he's trying to resist control, having pain from a limb being cut off and also bleeding out. Besides a full kill would probably be the safest option for these people based on the kind of life they live in. They'd rather kill the other immediately if one was putting their whole family in danger or danger of death. Anyhow, that's what I would assume went through the mother's head and why immediate death was the option. Hopefully this can somewhat lift the confusion you have.

Orphanage director really went and got his ass isekaii'd
