FYI the hollow that saves Vueko is Pakkoyan, while human she was that blue haired girl that was constantly by Vueko's side...because she was her lover (which is shown outright in the manga - and possibly her partner/gf, which is strongly implied by her behavior, tho this might or might not be partially one-sided...)

I think Vueko's end was both happy and sad. Sad because it wasn't until the end of her life that she finally found what she was looking for all along. Happy because in the end she found her sense of self-worth - she became gold. Her entire life she felt that she was worthless and in the end she realised that her life had value and meaning.
