The Shogun is basically the military ruler of the country. He is human. The Shogunate (also called the Bakufu sometimes in the show), is basically like saying "the government", so it's all the people in power. Most of them are Amanto now, since they basically invaded Earth and forced them to open their border to them. But they are, at least technically, still under the power of the Shogun.

Also, if you need help with the names, here are a few you mihgt want to note: The 4 main members of the Shinsengumi are: - Kondo : the idiot boss - Hijikata : his second-in-command - Sogo : the one with the bazooka - Yamaguchi : the one that plays badminton all the time

Episode 14 [This week is in 3 parts like the popular anime] I have no idea what anime they are referring to too.I think they mean this episode is split in 3 parts instead of the usual 2. But I may be wrong. [Episode starting with the shinsengumi] They are talking about the last episode where Gin and Katsura defeated the space pirate drug dealer to save the “pig” girl. Ok not really a pig girl that that was the joke during the show.

The shogunate are different from the Shinsengumi. I'm not sure about the Gintama world but the Shogunate is the government. The shinsengumi are kind of a soft enemy of Gin, but they are not bad and funny and carry the show at times. They aren’t real hardcore enemies so they can be MC for an episode or part of it. They guy with the badminton again. 😂 It does suck for the shinsengumi. They are kind of the special police so they have to protect the shogunate even if the shogunate treats them like shit.

Burning the frog I don’t know how they get away with this. 🤣 Doesn’t make sense. In historical context medieval japan from 1185 to 1868. Shogun is the leader of the army but at that time he is more powerful than the emperor. So think of it as a military dictator. The emperor is mostly a figurehead for ceremonial purposes; all the important decisions are done by the Shogun. The shogunate is just the government. So all the officials surrounding the Shogun. I’m not sure about the position and power of the Shogun in Gintama. And you’re not stupid. You're smarter than most. You just can’t know everything if you never came across the information.

[Back with Gin] Lol Gin pretending to sleep 😂 Yea this episode is 3 parts so you have 3 different skit. They were trying to extorque que lady in the swing so I’m all for the dog this time. Kudo to Kagura. 👍 Kagura is telling it like it is. They reek of poverty. Ok, that means but an expected joke from Gintama. The sleepy bazooka guy’s name is Okita Sougo.

Kagura is not a real princess. Because in the park by the swing she presents herself as the Queen of ….[I can't remember what 😅]... So that is why the real princess is calling her, your highness. I don’t think we have a lot of backstory on Kagura. At least if we had i don’t remember them. 😅 It’s a sweet story with the princess. 🥰

In the end it was just a two parter episode. With a random cooking skit at the end. 🤔 I guess it split in 3 with the commercial maybe I’m not sure and I'm confused but not that it matters. [Classroom comment] It’s me that made a comment. I strongly dislike Classroom 7. But that will be for the reaction. Ok I’m posting this and will go watch episode 15 now, Be back in a few. haven't watched season 3 of the boys yet. recently watched made in abyss and the third movie. now im in season 2 of overlord and i gotta be honest, it's boring to me, and i have to get through 2 more seasons, but I'll get through it. now i realized that i have to watch devil Is a part timer. i got alot of bingeing to do 😩

Is that macha the drink, Careful not to laugh spit everything 😂 Game shows tend to do this by putting more points toward the end so trailing teams can catch up but the first game was 1000 points now it’s 30 000 so no matter who won the first game you just have to win the 2nd one. And you're in the lead. 😅 The old lady names is Otose [After episode]Funny episode but not much to talk about. Binge watch overlord at 1.5X playback speed. Watch Made in abysse properly. Hijikata said Sougo's pupils are dilated as in his intent to kill is blatantly obviously, he needed to cool off before trouble happens. By the way we're never seen him use a sword properly either.

Shogun is the highest leader of the government, shounate is what they call the government in this story and japan at the time. But this is around the time where the Shogun is at the verge of losing his power as the people despise the government bending down to "Amantos" (Western Colonisers like USA and UK) while the rebels and the emperor's power is rising. Shinsengumi is an armed force/secret police responsible for protecting the shogunate. They're known to be ruthless and lack discipline in the history.

Great reaction as always. Ppl here already gave more precise answers but... I simply like to think of the Shogun as the japanese version of a King and the shogunate as the royal court. Thats close enough to understand their role, without getting too much into details.

It physically hurts watching you skip one of the few unique outros this show has. As in an ongoing outro, not one time jokes or stuff like that. It's also one of my favorite outros from any anime; it's just really simple and a vibe.
