"Prove me right" *unpause* OOOOOOOHHHHH That made me laugh, I gotta admit. But yeah, those values differences. While a lot of people don't agree with Light killing the FBI, not a lot of people wind up feeling that sorry for Raye.

ArcaneAnomaly

"They got files from his computer, so they're gonna think it was him, right?" No, but I think the subtitles were mistranslated or just mistaken there. Maybe not mistranslated, but left very ambiguous as to what happened. Raye Penber's supervisor, and the one in charge of all of the field teams sent to Japan, was the first name written down, in the first box. The Death Note instructions on that box were that the stated person was to send identity information of all the agents in Japan to all the agents in Japan before dying, so all of the agents would get a file containing the identity list. The rest of the boxes for the normal agents had them dying after opening the file(I believe). That way, they can't tell which agent Kira compromised. The boss sent the list to everyone and died, and then everyone died after opening the list.

I agree, that's odd about Raye . I think why I don't like Raye stems from the fact that every time you see him he makes a glaring mistake so you go "he kinds deserves it at this point" but I think his archaic logic was rooted in concern for future spouse but in the end he did end up paying for it since maybe listening to her could of helped in some way.

When I first watched this series when it first came out I was a big fan of Light due to him proving to me that he can make the world better and he has the intellect and power to be an impactful leader. I was full steam ahead on that Kira ride or die train but now that I am older and watching this series again, I can see that Light killing Raye and the agents is where I see he is not capable of practicing what he preaches which makes me shift my gears and now root against him. Very funny reaction with some excellent pauses. Didn't notice any problem with the sound. I also agree that Ryuk's dub voice is the best selling point for the English version.

I can't watch it :( It says I have to pay for it because I used up the whatever free thingy

donald johnson

then you have to get a mega plan or just wait the 5 hrs or so. nothing she can do about it

I don't think ray was in the wrong here. They already had an agreement that she will not get involved in the case, there is nothing wrong with demanding that she doesn't involve her self per that agreement. And there is Nothing wrong with separating work from home. Does he deserve to die because of that ? No, ofc not that would be an exaggerated judgement.

Loving your reactions. Always looking forward to rewatching anime at the end of the day and enjoying your reaction.

yup, he exploited that the agents, even if they don't know their colleagues, at least have to know their superior because they have to get their orders from somewhere...and that guy, in turn, has the info on all the agents he deployed, so he can use that to make him forward every agent's identities.

17:34 You: "oh nooooo..." Me: "Oh yes!" XD Interesting that, with decades, centuries or however long Shinigami are around, none of them was interested enough in their work to figure out all the tricks & workarounds Light is experimenting with rightnow....REALLY shows how apathetic their world & Shinigami as a whole really are.

I can't make up my mind if the writer is sexist or he is writing sexist characters as a form of social commentary. The fact that the entire L police task force is all male could indicate the writer's sexism or it could just be reflective of the number of policewomen in Japan being quite low.

Anonymous

Well you can believe in anything but at least for me if there is doubt if a person is sexist or not I like to assume there are innocent until a definite conclusion can be made.

Anonymous

One can argue that the writer used Ray's sexism as o plot device to keep his exceptional ex-FBI agent fiancee out of the case. If the creator was racist then he/she wouldn't introduce her to us as an exceptional agent. And we don't know the real identity of the creator so it might actually be a woman.

I hope that Youtube doesn't take down either version (dub or sub). In that case, would you continue with the dub or the sub? Personally I liked your reaction to the dub better

"Some scientists" have noticed that women who crack their knuckles and fingers are destined to be only housewives giving birth to at least 7 children within a 10 year period. I'm just saying.

Andre

Lmao this shit made me laugh hard... but wtf lol

Preach. When I was a child I thought this guy was cool and it's just necessary to have those agents killed. Now I grew up and was utterly disgusted with what I thought was right in the past

Raye penbers wife shouldn't even know what he's doing. Telling her to back off the Kira was the best thing he could do. Sure he sounded rude from your perspective when he said it, but she is the type to just do things unless you really tell her she must not. If I want someone to live and I know they might do something that can cause them to die, i'd make sure they don't do whatever that may be. Even if I have to come off as rude to the person to make sure they really don't get into that dangerous situation. Also from a third person perspective... if you watch two friends talk to each other it may seem like they're being rude to eachother... but they're friends and know what they can and can't say to one another. So the person watching from the 3rd person perspective can't really say anything about what they're doing or saying to eachother unless it's a really obvious and maybe dangerous thing they're doing.

catalin alradi

Are you serious ? Raye said that to his fiance because he loves her and being an FBI agent is a dangerous job he just wanted to make sure she doesn't work a dangerous job he wants to make sure she is safe. It might have sounded a little sexist but it's not. If they have kids she would quite being an FBI agent that means she won't put herself in danger ever again and they could have a happy and peaceful life. You said you don't feel that bad he died because of what he said to her ? Omg I can't believe how dumb you are. I wonder how can people like you exist. You're such a moron

Andre

Well that escalated quickly. I did made a post that is no longer available about those comments she made on penber and how she would’ve reacted. Guess it just comes down to what agreements you have with people around. Like I would be a dick and talk to you hard if I don’t want you to get in something dangerous ofc. So I get that side of penber.

Mad Goldsmith

So, I haven't watched the reaction yet, but seeing a few of the comments here...I hope it won't get any more political. That would be a real turnoff.

Saw specific comments that were trying to say this but felt short and didn't get the right point across if u know what I mean but this is definitely the "right" way to go about it I agree with u at the least
