Estarossa's commandment makes anyone around him who has any hatred in their hearts become powerless. Escanor isn't affected because he feels no hatred for those weaker than him, which means he hates no one.

Looking up fanfiction is dangerous for spoilers because season 3 hasn't ended yet. So theories could get proven right before the season ends. Keep that in mind. I'm waiting for season 3 to end before I start it. Spoilers suck.

Here's a hint, who can be the father of Meliodas, the former most wicked demon, and has the ability to curse him for eternity?

Anonymous

Yup. As of now, he's trying to take Meliodas' emotions away so he can revert back to the most wicked of them all. This actually supports your argument a while back when they tried to take Meliodas' emotions away during the cave training, it would've done the demon king a favor

AwakeProductions

Yeah!! Dude. Good call back. Yeah it’s kinda making him a monster. Monster-like? He’s not completely without emotion yet. Is it going to get worse over time? Also, why does he think he needs to be this way to protect Elizabeth? Is he more powerful this way? Protect her from who? His dad? The goddesses? SO MANY QUESTIONS!!!!!!! 😖

We've seen it from time to time that the more evil, dark energy Meliodas draws, the more powerful he is, that's why he gave up the power earlier in the first place.. We saw a few episodes ago in the flashbacks of how he hacked through the Goddesses when he was evil. So far the answer is not clear but Meliodas seems to think he needs his true power back to defeat the ten commandants. I'm glad you have these questions but it'll have to wait till season 3 :)

basically his enormous pride - his biggest character flaw - shields him from Estarossa's commandment. Love the irony

I really do want to answer a bunch of your questions but most of them involve spoilers for next season which I would be vry hyped for if u decided to react to that

Radoras

well...not ALL his emotions; the sadistic joy from the old times seems to be returning/ replacing his usual, friendly personality - as opposed to Gowther, who is always detached and does things out of couriosity or to archieve the objective to gain emotions, but never just for fun

Not gonna lie, I’m thrilled to see this evil version of Meliodas manifesting, it adds even more depth to his character, and the contrast from his usual self is very interesting
