I'm glad you will be watching Tanya. There's a lot going on in each episode, so you should have plenty of things to talk about. The main characters will not be winning with overwhelming victory like Overlord. I mean they still win, but it will not be easy, and they win in interesting ways. The dub version is really good. Compare the two. Some cultural references might be lost in the sub. The duel between Ainz and Gazef ended that way because Ainz respected Gazef. He treated Gazef like a regular Player and pulled no punches, as opposed to when he toyed with Clementine. He appraised Gazef's sword's abilities. Brain and Climb were alarmed because it was foolish to let an enemy learn about your equipment. If you keep getting interrupted, you could use headphones with a mic, and have a "DO NOT DISTURB" motel sign on your door.

The role of Mommon is to quell the people's fear in E-Rantel. They will feel assured that the undead would not kill them randomly because Mommon is there. They would also be less likely to rebel and ruin the peace Mommon has negotiated. I don't think Sorcerer Kingdom laws would put a kid to death. The people in the city got over their fear eventually and became prosperous under Ainz's rule. They had free undead labor and undead horses dragging carriages. Trading resumed between E-Rantel and other areas.

Gazef's sword can kill Ainz, as it can hurt Ainz. Maybe if Ainz were to go down to a sliver of his health. It's like getting killed by a spoon when you are down to your last breath.

The little show they put on with the kid wasn't because of Nazarics prejudice towards humans, the opposite it was because of humans prejudice against monsters especially the undead. Now they have a hero whom they trust insulating them from what they wrongly fear. Ainz makes crushing military spending unnecessary, vast amounts of free labor from the undead pour in to the economy. This allows social programs like healthcare and education to be funded. The rapid raise people's standard of living will cause them to love their badass king. Momon will keep down the panic until that can happen. Once established the Sorcerers kingdom will export this safety and prosperity throughout, not only to the humans but to all sentient species. It's a bright new day...

PS glad you're doing Tanya, like Ainz she's feels very awful but somehow loveable. I suggest you prepare by watching a doc on world war one, like even the little cartoony ones on youtube will help connect with what's going on in the show. Search for ww1 oversimplified..

The name Sorcerer Kingdom and such is a lot better than what they made the official translation of the novels, "Darkness Kingdom" they ruined the sneaky plays of momon and ainz.. Like. Momon's team is "Team Darkness" or what it was, so suddenly having a kingdom pop up "Darkness Kingdom"? Mmm.. I'll take Sorcerer Kingdom over that

Iä Shub-Niggurath: Ainz uses this super-tier spell to summon a black cyclone and kill nearly everything in its field of range. Additionally, the fallen victims caught in the cyclone are also sacrificed in order to summon monsters over level 90 known as "Dark Young." The number of summoned Dark Youngs is proportional to the total number of sacrifices. For Ainz's record, the highest number of Dark Youngs he is able to summon successfully in the New World so far was about five at most. Trivia about Dark Youngs The Dark Young are based on H. P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos' Outer God Shub-Niggurath's children. The Dark Young act as proxies for Shub-Niggurath in the accepting of sacrifices and spreading of their mother's faith across the world. Under normal circumstances, every summoning of the Dark Young would only produce one entity, which was itself a cause for celebration to players. While being able to bring out two of them was considered a rarity, Ainz broke the record by managing to summon five Dark Young, which is the highest number known so far. However, the Dark Young would eventually disappear after a set amount of time passes. According to Princess Renner, the total amount of deaths during the Katze Plains Massacre was said to be over 180,000 ( Of 240.000 Soldiers that the Kingdom had there). 70,000 came from the initial casting of the super-tier spell to summon the Dark Young and another 110,000 from their rampage. When Gazef used two Martial Arts, 'Sense Weakness' and 'Possibility Sense', he came to learn that his slim chance of victory over the Dark Young are impossible, and was unable to detect any weaknesses from it. It is unknown whether the Dark Young truly had no weaknesses, any which appeared could not be seen because of the overwhelming difference in strength. And one thing more, since it isnt stated in the Anime, but Ainz is not even a Elder Lich, he is a Overlord, the most powerful of this Art. Class Build Total Level 100 Racial Level Skeleton Mage (15) Elder Lich (10) Overlord (5) etc (10) Job Level Necromancer (10) Master of Death (10) Eclipse (5) etc (35) Some more interesting things from the LN: The maximum amount of spells a level 100 player could learn was 300. However, Ainz used his special ability "Dark Wisdom" to learn and memorize 718 different spells. Even those spells he had not learned could still become a weapon to read his opponents’ strengths, once Ainz knew of them. As part of Ainz Ooal Gown, he was easily ranked in the top five amongst his guild members when it came to magical knowledge. About EP13: - In the novel, during the scene with Momon, the Dark Hero stated that he could possibly defeat either Albedo or Ainz alone, but not the two of them at once. That and the noted threat of collateral damage were his pretexts for giving in to their "demands". The people of the city, of course, were highly moved by Momon's choice to "sacrifice his freedom in order to protect them". He also told them he suspects a third party might've used magic on the child to compel him to throw the rock in order to trigger a massacre and warned that they should inform him at once if they hear of anyone fomenting unrest as that could be the work of hostile powers trying to get them all killed (heavily paraphrasing, but that's the subtext he was implying). - The spell Ainz used to stop time is the aptly named Time Stop spell. According to Ainz, any serious PVP player in Yggdrasil has to acquire countermeasures against it by the time he hits level 70 to avoid getting timestop ganked by any arcane spellcaster worth a damn. More specifically, Ainz cast "Silent Magic: Time Stop" which eschewed the need for calling out the spell's name and reduced the casting time to zero (basically, the moment he mentally willed the spell to be cast it took effect instantaneously). This is the same spell he used back in episode 8 to end the "fight" against Foresight. While time is stopped Ainz cannot affect anything that is frozen in time, which is why he used "Delay Magic" on the True Death spell he cast on Gazeff. Getting the timing just right on delayed spells so that they'd go off the moment the timestop ends is a difficult still to master (only around 5% of players manage it), but Ainz had been an Yggdrasil addict for over a decade and has been practicing it A LOT so he's rather good at it. By the way, in case you were wondering, in one of the Drama CDs it was shown that characters with countermeasures against time magic continue to move normally when time is stopped. - While the adventurers who tried to slow down the Dark Young were killed instantly, Marquis Raeven nevertheless survived the massacre as the Dark Young were frozen in place by Ainz just as the tentacles of the one "chasing" him were about to reach him (he soiled his breaches though, which is understandable given the circumstances). Raeven was traumatized by the experience and retreated his domain.

also, if any serious resistance groups or anything arise, it would be most likely they try gathering around their greatest remaining hero - Momon.

Hmmm.....either having nice, heroic people die...or be wrong about something....can understand you're torn apart inside...who wouldn't be? 🤣 And again: you're not stupid! Overlord IS very confusing sometimes, had to read up on a couple things myself when I first watched it and stumbled over stuff that had me like "what the fuck?!?", + you don't have much knowledge in regard to fantasy games/MMORPGs, which that show heavily draws from, so it is to be expected that you are clueless sometimes. I think by meaninglessly, he simply means "without any reason"...so basically "not killing for fun" or "not as long as it doesn't serve a greater cause (Nazarick's dominance)" Anyway, thanks for toughing this show out for us even if you would have liked to drop it.

Radoras

side-note: I totally get where you're coming from, you don't want help because (guess because of previous experience) you think they'll just use it as a "bargaining chip" later on in an argument

Princess Renner does actually love Climb. It's the love of a crazy woman sure, not a healthy love at all, but it is still love. His love for her isn't particularly healthy either though. Ever since she saved him off of the streets he has seen her as a perfect angel and she loves how he looks at her in that way so she puts on an act of being a perfect angel in order to suit him.

It's actually pretty likely if not certain (I can't remember for sure) that the little kid running out and throwing a rock at the death knight was all planned. That "kid" was probably never in any danger at all. That kid might not have even been a kid; he and his mother could have been shape shifting NPCs from Nazarick, they do have those you know. That whole thing was a prearranged play they put on in order to get the people of that city to not start an insurgency and commit acts of domestic terrorism. They're afraid of Ainz but they trust and revere Momon, so if Momon is willing to give Ainz a shot at the whole ruler thing then they'll trust Momon and follow his lead. They're also afraid of undead in general as undead hate and kill the living as a rule so the idea of an undead ruling them is terrifying, and they fear he'll do horrible things to them. With Momon telling Ainz and Albedo straight to their faces that he'll kill them if they cross the line and kill the people unjustly, the citizens feel reassured that no matter what Momon has their backs. After a few years of living peaceful and prosperous lives, without any abuse, under the rule of Ainz their opinions about him will change for the better, their fear will mostly subside and life will carry on.

The Sorcerer Kingdom will become the most developed and progressive country. All species will be welcomed, healthcare, free undead labor (which is even exported to other countries), promotion of self-determination. The constant presence of death knights as peace keepers almost annihilated crime in the kingdom. Through outsourcing the basic production to undead labour, everyone was free to pursue their own goals. Food became so cheap, that there is basically no death from hunger. The kingdom established a huge trade network with other countries and even started supporting those with labor and goods.
