Should I react to death note at some point, or watch it on my own?

It is one of the best animes of all time and one of my personal favorites but the main character is a villain and the anime is dark idk if it is for you.

Mieguy

While I would love for you to react to this show, just be aware that the fan base can be as toxic as the one for Overlord for not getting things or if you react negative to the main characters decisions.

ArcaneAnomaly

I was gonna say yes, but this is a good point. It's a flat-out villain protagonist show, not an anti-hero.

Lusion

I would love a reaction to this series!

This anime is so awsome for its genre that i went on a year long hunting spree for similar anime, only to find none :(

Code Geass and Death Note are kinda similar, you will enjoy it

I'm split between wanting to see your reaction & worry about how much you could enjoy the anime, because it's pretty dark Pros: - Interesting plot - Smart characters - makes you think (at least for me) Cons:- pretty dark story - POTENTIAL SPOILER: sometimes people you might consider good get hurt for beeing in the way - POTENTIAL SPOILER(?): from my view, MC has kind of a god-complex

Andre

You should totally react to it. It’s dark but I think in a good way. Code geass and death note are similar in that they have to change the world no matter what. It is high praised for a reason by many

Tyrone Tyrone

Death Note is a must. Please react to it. And the fanbase passions have died down since they've grown older (it's 12 years old).

Lee Coleman

It’s a show that takes you for a ride. It’s like Tyrone said had a big fanbase when it came out now all good memories

This is one of those oddball anime, in that it is very popular, but never appealed to me. I found the story to be boring with no likable characters. But like I say I am definitely in the minority.

Radoras

It's one of the animes that are popular because it deviates from the good-guy-formula many anime follow (a bit like Codea Geass, but even a good bit further from good); it simply appeals to a different audience that places a lower priority on - as you put it - characters
