Expected Overhaul to have an escape plan ready in the drawer - just in case he would need one; first throw the least useful members of his group (the pawns) under the bus to take the hits & slow them down and then lead them through his underground complex, where he's on his home turf, to have an advantage just in case he can't shake them off... & that Midoriya cried doesn't have anything to do with him being weak or anything, just because he can be strong doesn't mean he has to be all the time 🙂
