Why does this sound similar to the X-Men movie where a special boy could negate all mutant abilities and the government develops a "cure" using his DNA?

If Nighteye was truly pragmatic, I would expecting him to order Eri to be eliminated in the scenario where she couldn't be rescued to cut off the drug's supply. Kill one child to potentially save the future.

doubted it at first, but maybe she actually IS his daughter...with the similarity of their quirks & her not having been treated nice in "her whole life", what are the odds he found her right when her quirk manifested (around age 4)? I think Shisaki just wants to destroy hero's quirks in general if they're problematic; he already stated that he "refined All for One's method"

Here's the thing. Us audience gets to say things in hindsight about whether we should take Eri for the first time because we knew what Overhaul was capable of. The heroes, on the other hand, had no idea about it and were investigating. Mirio and Midoriya snatching Eri could possibly be a major screw up in the whole investigation on their point of view. Of course it would be easy to make decisions if there's enough information, which was what they did not have previously.
