i couldn't even tell you how many times i refreshed the page for this today Loved it, the downward spiral is just getting started. When you said it was frustrating to watch I 100% felt that. This show almost hurts to watch, and I don't mean that in a bad way. Looking forward to 14

Really gives the opening a different vibe when you realize how much of it was focused on Okabe and Mayuri and now you know why. Going through literal hell to try and save her always was the main plot. It's literally one man's battle against the fate of the universe. The first half of the series was all just build up towards that.

I get it that it's frustrating watching Okabe go in alone and not tell anyone but can't really blame him. We've built him up as this character that cares deeply about his friends and he obviously feels guilty that this is happening all because of his childish stupidity. Because of all this happening he's not thinking straight and is only focused on his main objectives which is to save Mayuri and push his friends out of harms way as much as possible. His inability to see the big picture was briefly foreshadowed in episode 5 between Okabe and Kurisu with the board game. She mentioned how he only focuses on his own strategies rather than looking at the big picture and noticing that his way of doing things is not going to garner a better outcome. Okabe is such a well written main character that it's easy to understand based on the circumstances and it doesn't go out of character with what we've built him up to be. We still root for the guy despite the huge mistakes he makes.

Couldn't agree more. If you think about it from Okabe's perspective he has a lot of reasons not to immediately tell them. Not only would they think he's batshit insane but he also feels responsible, as if its entirely his fault

goddamn I love this show. Literally watched every reaction channel on youtube. Hell its why i subscribed. Obsessive I know but idgaf. Emotional connection to art is hard to find

2021-08-02 02:00:50 I somehow feel a strong simliarity between Okabe and Subaro from Re:Zero, in that both of them have to fail over and over again and still have to keep going, until they find a way to make a difference & save their loved ones.
