Joes arc should be him finally being happy and comfortable with himself with Travis but then Travis moves to a different state for work and joe is so hurt he decides he’s not gay and dates some girl on the rebound but the relationship ends in pain because he’s not being honest with himself and finally drives all the way across the country to be with Travis.

Your comment made me research it a bit, and in one interview he gave, he said that he headbanged a ton, blew his nose really really hard and shoved his fingers in his nostrils as hard as he could stand. His nose did bleed, but not to the extent that he wanted... they eventually resorted to using pigs’s blood in addition to his own. Not quite as rock n’ roll as a brick to the face, but I’m glad he didn’t have to do that!
