Among the current features, the battle system was one of the most incomplete ones.
As of R2, only goblins exist, and only one at a time can appear, making the whole experience quite static.

In R3 I tackled those issues, with a few extra improvements to the UI:

  • The background was redone to look a little more akin to the current floor you are in, and more detailed.
  • The need to click "attack" is no longer necessary, you just select the one you want to attack, which is the standard action at the beginning of your turn (and will be the only means of attack for a few releases until magic and battle items such as bombs are introduced).
  • The bulky menu on the middle right of the screen was removed in favor of icons appearing on the middle bottom of the screen, giving a wider space to monsters (particularly useful once bigger ones are introduced).

The icons are currently 32x32 but if players find them to be too small, I will double the size.
I personally like the current size, and if you hover the cursor over them, a tooltip will show what the action is (In the screenshot there is the icon to attack, which is useless since there are no other means of attacking right now, and the one to escape).

If you purchase potions, they will also show up there as well, allowing you to heal yourself during your turn.

Each floor has a percentage of likelyhood that more than an enemy will appear, only up to 3 monsters can appear on floor 1-4 at a time, with floor 1 having only 2% chance for 3 monsters at once to appear.

This is all for now!
I need to perform a few tests now, and depending on the results, goblins might become slightly weaker.
