Because it tied with the video on Tiana, I've decided to just go ahead and make the serialization video instead of putting it back up for a re-vote. Like the Redemption Arc video it's going to be one where the thoughts I've scattered throughout multiple different videos are brought together into their own topic.

The script is done, just going through touch-ups at the moment. But here's a snippet.

I mentioned that the most recent winner of Best Animated Feature was Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio, a movie that, like most of del Toro's work, is... certainly interesting to write about.
It certainly deserved the award, but the funny thing is that despite being the first animated drama to win for over a decade, the actual discussion about animated films was dominated by this weird petty fight between Turning Red and Puss in Boots the Last Wish, largely because The Last Wish is a by the numbers adventure fantasy that stole its aesthetic from Kingdom Hearts and its theme from Soul, but it had a red eyed edgelord furry as the bad guy so clearly it's the savior of animation forever from those eeeeeevil chick flicks.
And that's the real central issue, because what they're actually mad about is that an animation studio made a few girl movies.

I feel like the main criticism of Turning Red that I see is that the kids are annoying or that the story isn’t able to be appreciated by broad audiences. But I never found the hyperactive comedy to be grating and I mean… everyone deals with puberty awkwardness, even if they don’t get a period. Turning Red isn’t my favorite Pixar movie, but the entire third act is really fun and the movie definitely overhated by people who can’t handle a non white lead or discussions about periods.

You got a problem with last wish? Do I needa go get my acme last wish hater defenestrating large novelty mallet™? (I understand that there's more going on in that sentence, but that's the only part of it I take umbridge with)

Interesting in regards to Pinocchio, since it’s definitely in the conversation about these shows since Pat McHale (the guy who created Over The Garden Wall and was the Creative Director for the first two seasons of Adventure Time) co wrote it with del Toro. It’s interesting how the guy who was the boss of people like Rebecca Sugar and others managed to shoot all the way to this position, and the others are still just working on each other’s shows or still milking their previous works instead of moving forward to bigger projects.
