Sprite Preview: Tara Lewison (Patreon)

The day has come! Before we dive into this preview and report about this new character, I'd like to toss a tiny bit of context about Tara and her role at the academy, why she's here!

A while back and through the years of development, we've heard a number of comments and mentions against the character John, who acts as the main teacher for the guys when they arrive at the academy. We've tried to adjust how John as a character feels overtime and I'm sure when looking back to his early days in the first builds of MA, he's come a looooong way.. ^^"

Even still, there was still ill feelings towards John and so after much thought, we had decided to retire his role to a lesser role in the game. This wasn't a light decision to make since it does affect some changes that'll need to be made to the existing game's content for scenes where John once appeared, but we knew what it'd entail to replace John.

I should mention that John is still in the game, but he will exclusively be seen within Lola's Route. His personality and how he presents himself should feel similar to how he's felt within episodes 1-4 currently, but he is no longer a teacher at the academy.

Tara is a brand new character to the game, she has her own personality compared to John. Her role in the game is taking over as John's old role as the teacher for the guys, helping introduce them into the academy setting and guide them along the way at times.

Tara has 4 outfits, technically 3! Don't let her face or her choice in clothing fool you, she's really a teacher! We'll get into details further below that explain more about her, but she kind of has a thing for cats and quite a fascination with trains as a hobby.

I wanted to ensure her underwear didn't feel too out of place, just a subtle little cutesy cat design, which might be easier to see in the gallery viewer. Her diaper design was pretty fun to put together and work with Lisa on designing. Originally, the idea was to have the diaper look like a train, the front would feel like the front of a train, sides would look like the side cars and so on.. But, clearly that wouldn't have looked as cute and also it kind of confused Lisa and even myself after trying to picture exactly how that'd look.. ^^"

I think Lisa managed to present a much cuter idea with taking Tara's love for cats and applying it to her hobby of trains, we now get the legendary cat conductor! 

Tara's casual outfit is a pair of overalls, not too girly in theme and yet not too boyish either. I imagine she has a taste for more neutral toned clothing, stuff that'd fit either gender for what society would expect from gender roles typically. (Who needs limits on what people like to wear to feel themselves anyway! :P ) Just like Karissa and other teachers, there's no dress code for uniform, so we'll see Tara mainly in her casual outfit! Notice there's two, one for when she has underwear on and one for when her diaper is on.. Wait, what?! Teachers don't have to wear diapers though! <.<

Here we have Tara's expected expression sheet! A few of these were tough to create, wanting to ensure I capture her personality just right and how she presents herself visually. 

Tara isn't a student, but the academy still keeps records on their teachers too! Let's see what details we can dig up on Tara...

Tara is one of the few teachers at Pembroke Academy, only having started teaching there within the past year and feeling new to some aspects of teaching, but grasping it enough. She has a long way still to prove herself to our cause, not fully being one of us, many doubt her, including myself... But I gave her a chance anyways.

Tara mainly handles subjects revolved around History, Reading, Writing and similar topics when needed. We'll sometimes have her fill in for other subjects if we have no choice. Besides her difference, she was born with a high functioning autism, which seems to help her at times with her lessons and learning in-depth about subjects to teach, but it's clear to us that it can be a disadvantage at times in general communicating skills for her. She comes across as being airy, aloof and sometimes this spills into being socially awkward when speaking about details and not realizing social cues. Despite this, she is friendly, soft-spoken and doesn't cause trouble, but sadly when there's conflict around her, it's too much for her to deal with and so she has to call upon other teachers to deal with students if they're too much.

When she isn't teaching, she often retreats to her dorm room setup for her and we've collected some data that her hobbies and interests include: Generally anything to do with trains for some odd reason, she enjoys putting together train models and learning or seeing different kinds of trains when they're supposed to arrive at set stations. Similar to that, she seems to enjoy mini sculptures and collecting, putting together little landscapes within her room, making her living space pretty cluttered, but she doesn't really invite people into her room anyways. She takes a liking to reading, which covers a wide range of topics, some odd, others general, but she typically has a few books she checks out from the school library and will return them within a day or two at times. Some students have reported what sounds like meowing coming from her dorm, but we don't allow pets at the academy and every time we've inspected her room, we come up empty handed when we could actually move around her cluttered space.

Tara isn't sure what she wants to do with her life outside of teaching and helping our cause at the academy, but maybe one day in the near future she'll find something fitting that works for her... More recently, she's been tasked with helping the new guys who arrived at the academy recently, which means it's less likely for her to possibly mess up our plans...
