3 Major Bugs Have Been Fixed! (For the Beta v0.8.2.1 and Alpha v0.8.3.1 versions)

Fixes:

1. Learning status changes are persisted even when the popup dictionary is disabled
2. Right clicking with highlighted text now works normally
3. The Patreon pledge expired message has been updated to make more sense and it links directly to the pledge tab on the accounts page so that it's easier to understand.

Hey everyone!

We're really sorry about the long wait on this new release. We did everything we could to get it to you as quickly as possible, but we're simply unable to meet our original goal due to the time constraints.  You can find the download link below. Please report any issues you find on the Discord server.


Creating a Migaku Account:
To use the new version you will need to create an account on our website and connect your Patreon account. You can do this on the "Pledge" tab at https://www.migaku.io/account

How to install the extension:

How to update from version 0.5.8 or lower:
- Export your word list from the "Word Data" tab in the settings. Make sure you selected the correct language when exporting!
- Remove the extension from Chrome by going to chrome://extensions/ in your browser.
- Delete the folder of the old extension version on you computer
- Extract the new extension zip file to a desired location
- Select "Load Unpack" on chrome://extensions/ and select the folder you just extracted
- Go to the "Learning Status" tab in the new version and import your learning status word data for the correct language
- Optionally sync your word status list to the Migaku cloud

how do i know which version of migaku browser i have ?

First of all, thanks for the hard work on a fantastic tool to aide in language learning! However, I'm not a fan of requiring an account to use the extension. It's just another account to manage and provides no substantial benefit. (For me) Although there is a privacy policy on migaku.io, it's not clearly linked anywhere from what I could see. In addition to potential usability problems if it requires a "recent" authentication and I am without internet and get locked out of local functionality.

When I sign into the add-on it tells me my patreon membership is expired even though I have the "Beta Releases" tier. Is that not the correct tier or is the add-on going crazy.

Thank you for your hard work guys. Could you please explain how do I use pop-up dictionary? I've installed a few Korean dictionaries in settings tab, clicked to parse a text of YouTube subtitles so that words are highlighted on hover. But there is no pop-up dictionary. Does it work only for reader or something? Or am I totally missing something?

You should press shift then hover. Make sure you install dicts into the correct language in the top left language select of the settings window.

Awesome! I've been realluy looking forward to this. Possibly a stupid question but will we still need to use Anki 2.1.35, or will things work with 2.1.44 now the new browser extension is out?

Accounts are necessary for future feature sets, it's better to implement them earlier so that we can iron out the bugs before those new feature sets are implemented.

Those errors aren't issues, just restart your Chrome and things will work normally. We will make sure those errors (which are just warnings that happen after you update the extension but haven't yet refreshed a tab using the extension) aren't shown in a future version.

Hello, when I click on "confirm" to import anki words, the cursor gets a stop icon below. Any advice. Anki is on 2.1.35 and migaku plug in is the latest.

Is there a way I can just pay someone to help me figure out how to install this? I really just want to start making sentence cards, but I feel like the time it takes to figure all this stuff out leaves me feeling overwhelmed and not even wanting to immerse anymore.

YOu need to update your add ons to be work with the current version of anki. People shouldn't have to install old versions to get this to work. This is basic.
