The impact on the animation world? I think it will be used a lot by both corporate entities and indies....so a big impact. Sadly that will mean fewer job opportunities in corporate environments but it might mean growth for indies who will be able to create at a level never thought possible. We may even see a rise of individual auteurs who can create films at the same rate as Hollywood. For me, the notion of AI assistance such as inbetweening/colouring/backgrounds/crowdscenes etc is appealing (as an independent working with shoestring budgets) and as long as the AI tool ethically sources its data. However, solely AI produced "content" is a very odd concept that I think will lose its appeal quickly. I don't see much meaning in a story created by a non-human, my interest is in using AI as an aid to democratise productions and for indie artists to tell more, well-made, human stories.
